Hey you guys! So , I’ve already reviewed the Dove face wash with nutrium moisture (and all that good-for-winter stuff ) here on VNA, and the next in pretty much the same range is the Dove Gentle Exfoliating Body wash with exfoliating beads, which I’ll be reviewing in this post. A little back story here..My obsession with body washes started out with the Khadi ones I started to use a few years back, and since then, soaps are no longer a part of my favorites list. Body washes are bubbly, make bathing more relaxing and ritualistic and they leave you smelling like a unicorn fart!
Dove Claims : Dove Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash combines gentle exfoliating beads with 100% natural moisturizers to smooth away dry skin. Break through Nutrium Moisture technology absorbs completely to nourish deep down, plus an improved formula provides the proven best care our mildest cleansers ever, a rich lather and a clean rinse.
Price: Okay, so most of the things here are written in mandrin, or some kind of east asian language that i have no clue about. But in the indian market (Hail google!) I’ve found out that it retails at Rs.150. Which for 200 ml of product is budget-friendly.
Packaging : The packaging is that classic “va-va-voom” figured, hour glass Dove bottle, with a nozzle to dispense the product. Very convenient, hygienic, the colours and the graphics look fresh, and it goes with my shower Decor.
Fragrance : The dove face-wash , as i’ve mentioned, had almost the same scent as the dove soaps, and this body wash is no exception. The smell is slightly different to me , it’s almost a little more “infused”, as opposed to the “in-your-face” fragrance of the dove bar.
Instructions and claims :
It’s a body wash, not exactly rocket science here! You can either lather it up by hand, or be Fancy with a loofah.
The product claims to nourish your skin deeply (By which they mean the upper epidermis layer) with their unique blend of moisturizers enriched with skin-natural lipids that can be absorbed completely deep into the skin . When used everyday, it “supposedly” helps rebuild the skin from inside , making it more beautiful long term.
If you’ve used the gel versions of body washes, you’ll know that sometimes they’re a pain in the rear to lather up by hand (since they’re suited for being used with loofahs) and the cream ones are exceptionally runny and are way too messy to get into when you have five minutes to shower .
The dove body wash is almost the perfect cross between the two in terms of the consistency and the texture. It’s somewhere between the nourishing and easy-to-lather up nature of a cream, and the non-runny, no-mess nature of a gel. Also, the white formula has some abrasive little blue beads which are supposed to help exfoliate the skin without being too harsh.
The body wash foams up really well (and as i’ve mentioned, gives me the pseudo satisfaction of feeling squeaky-clean) and cleans the skin just as well as any other body wash or soap would, but leaves it feeling not – reptilian- dry. And if you’ve read my posts here on VNA, you know i tend to get dry patches through winters and oil-wells through summers. It doesn’t exactly nourish your skin, it is after all supposed to strip your skin or dirt and grease , but it’s far better than most (dare i say almost all ? ) drug store body washes. There is also a hint of that oh-so-clean-fragrance that it leaves, which lasts for a little while longer than the khadi ones.
VNA Rating: 4.5/5

VERDICT? Well, do i really need to say it? I’m in love, and if you’ve been looking for a body wash for your dry skin that doesn’t cost as much as the bath and body ones, or victoria’s secret ones, and still manages to get the job done, this is it.
