Deborah Milano Atomic Red Lipstick 03 – Review, Photos, Swatches

I LOVE Milano hide and seek cookies…they are super tasty and chocolaty. And after this lipstick, give me anything Milan and I will buy it without second thoughts. I wrote about it in my monthly favourites and a haul and since then I’ve been getting requests to review it.

It says:

  • Lipstick with a luminous, silky finish. Innovative formula produces pure, vibrant color.
  • Glides on easily and feels comfortable all day long. Hypoallergenic.

Price: Rs.480 ($10)

This is my first true coral lipstick and one of the best I’ve used in terms of quality. As far as the colour goes, calling it peach would be an understatement. It is a matte corally orange. More orange than coral. Almost a neon coral colour. At first I thought I cannot pull off the shade, but after playing around with it a bit, I can now wear it in public.

It is super pigmented, one swipe and you get the colour in the tube. It is very creamy. The creaminess doesn’t question it’s ‘matte’ title since its matte but in a creamy w ay. They don’t dry your lips unlike other matte lipsticks but I still prefer to wear a very thin layer of lip balm underneath. In terms of lasting power, it is one of the most long lasting I’ve ever used. Lipstick don’t stay on me for more than 2hrs but this one managed to stay around 6-7hrs and that too with eating and drinking. Although the intensity of the colour would not be the same after 4-5hrs but its still there which I LOVE. They don’t have any kind of smell.

But it is a bit tricky to apply. Did you notice the almost flat tip? It makes it difficult to reach the inner corners and sides and you need a brush to to even it out.

You see how intense and bright is the colour. Neon Orange in my opinion. But I generally tone it down with a warm sheer pink gloss or sometimes I wear it as a stain. It works wonderfully that way too. Even as a stain, it stays around for a long long time which is fantastic.

You know why I’m going nuts about the lasting power? It’s because I generally don’t re-touch my makeup. Although I would love to reapply my lipsticks but I generally forget all about makeup once I’m ready and out of the order. I never excuse myself to go to washrooms to re-touch anything. So, this lipstick scores a lot in that deptt.

Here it is on my lips:

It doesn’t look as scary on the lips as it looks in the hand swatches. So, you see there are different ways of carrying it depending on how intense you want the colour to be. I’m now thinking of wearing it with a bright coral gloss and see the results!

IMO these are great quality lipsticks and should be buying at-least one from this range. Pet peeve? They don’t have names, just numbers!

So is it for you? Yes if you are looking for a lipstick which goes on creamy, is matte, very pigmented and stays on for a good no. of hours. They have all the bright shades in the world and you should definitely get alt east one from this range. One of the best quality around.

  14. First of all I want to say terrific blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing.
I have had trouble clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the
first 10 to 15 minutes are lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips?
    Many thanks!
