Are oranges named orange because they are orange or is orange called orange because oranges are orange? Tell tell. Hahaha!
Today I will review and swatch this orangy orange lipstick from my favourite lipstick range available here in India. I am kind of obsessed with this range. The best part being the affordable price and the quality you get. Being on budget sucks big time but there are a lot of color options in this range and I am going to buy more of these. There is something for everyone. I will keep on going gaga about it..aah! Chuck it, should start with the review. I am a blabbering machine and once I start, there’s no stopping me. Ok I’ll shut up now.
Obsessed orange is true to its name. It’s as orange as Fanta or hanumanji ka tikka or an orange ice cream lolly. When I wear this shade in college, everybody is like “tikka maathe ki jagah lips pe laga liya kya?”. Ohh common people, shut up! People get used to it cuz’ I ain’t gonna stop wearing it. It is a unique color and I think no other brand has such a pure bright true orange shade.
The pigmentation is not as good as other shades from this range so you would need to apply 2-3 coats to get the full intense color. It tends to settle in fine lines after a while. I think it will suit all indian skin tones.
The lipstick is more moisturising than others from the same range. I don’t apply lip balm with it. It glides on easily and stays upto 4-5 hours without any meals. It fades away evenly leaving a very very light tint. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it requires touch ups after meals.
It has got a fragrance. I don’t know what kind of smell, but I like it. Some people might not like it.
It comes in a silver casing with a transparent cap which snaps shut with a click. There is a color representation at the bottom of the lipstick for easy identification. I read somewhere that this portion of the lipstick can be detached and there is actual lip color in there. Is it true?

Pros of Colorbar Obsessed Orange Lipstick:
Cons of the Velvet Matte lipstick:
Price: Rs 275
VNA Rating: 4/5
Will I re-purchase it? Hell yeah!
Recommendation: Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Obsessed Orange is a true bold orange which is quite eye catching but not neon. Its semi matte and glides on super smoothly on lips and you don’t need a lip balm with it. Although it needs touch ups after meals but I don’t mind it. I love it for being budget friendly and I totally suggest it for college girls who can’t afford Mac.
