Colorbar True Gloss Lip Gloss Nectar Orange
By Contributor: Lee
From an eye to cheek makeup girl I’ve become a lip gloss girl through and through. This is one product after a kohl that I never leave home without. For colleges I prefer sheer glosses and for parties I love pigmented long staying glosses. One of the best glosses I’ve used is from our very own Colorbar. Their true glosses score in every single department and this is gonna be one rave post! Let’s start with the review and swatches of Colorbar Nectar Orange.
Shade: Nectar Orange is a muddy coral orange. However, on me it does turn out brighter and more orangey than it actually is in the tube. It is one of the most subtle shades in this range which mostly comprises of bold bright neons. This will flatter most Indian complexions, especially the dusky skin tones.
Texture & Finish: The true glosses have a thick, creamy and hydrating texture which does not feel heavy or sticky. What I love the most is the fact that even though these are sorta thick they are still non-sticky. They moisturize my lips well and give a glossy healthy finish to the lips. They settle to a semi matte finish after an hour or so of application. However, they do tend to settle in fine lines so prior exfoliation is a must!
Pigmentation & Staying Power: The gloss is intensely pigmented and a single coat gives full coverage. These are often compared to NYX Xtreme Lipcreams but I’d say these are far better as I do not find them as heavy as the latter. Plus they do not contain the disgusting smell of the NYX Xtreme lip creams though they do have a slight fragrance.
The staying power is extremely high and lasts a long long time. It stays put for 4-5hrs with full intensity after which it settles into a strong lip stain that does not budge until you remove it with a makeup remover. In totality they last for more than 8+ hours which is super amazing for a gloss!! It survives heavy meals and drinks and you do not have to worry about touch ups with this one!
Price & Quantity: True Gloss is a top notch high quality gloss but it is definitely a bit pricey especially when you look at quantity. The tube might look long but it does not contain much product. I wish it was priced a little less and is certainly a bit costly. It contains 3.8ml product.
Packaging: The true glosses come in an elongated and classy tube with a silver cap. It comes with a sponge doe foot applicator which applies the product evenly in a single coat. The tube comes in a silver carton which has the list of ingredients, date of expiry and other necessary details mentioned on it. I totally love the look of the gloss and I must say Colorbar always scores high on the looks department.
