Colorbar Sheer Creme Lust LipColor Subtly Nude Review

By Contributor: Ramitha

So looks like all the companies have taken an oath to make me go broke, with so many new products launching especially lipsticks, I am going to be on a roll with reviews. I am a die hard fan of Colorbar lip products I mean who isn’t right?? From their velvet mattes to matte touch lipsticks, Take Me As I Am Lipsticks to True Glosses I have them all. So it is natural of me me to buy these recently launched Sheer Creme Lust Lipsticks..Phew thats quiet a long name. The shade I will review and swatch today is Subtly Nude.

Colorbar says : Pamper yourself with Colorbar’s new launch ‘Sheer Creme Lust Lipcolor’ this New Year! The special combination of light oils and ground breaking polymers, made for a soft consistency with flawless hold and adherence. Ultra glossy style that coats the lips with a creamy film of blendable color.

My Review:

Starting with the packaging, gosh I really like the sleek packaging and actually its quiet lighter in weight when compared to other lipsticks. When compared to MAC Sheen Supreme Lipsticks, the packaging is very similar. So packaging is a total win win, it closes properly, its light weight and sleeker.

Contrary to the name, these sheer creme lipcolors are actually quiet pigmented when compared to MAC sheen supreme lip colors. I have the shade subtly nude, basically a nude shade with pink undertones. Subtly nude is a pretty pink nude which will suit fair to medium skintones the best, doesn’t wash me out. Though it is a nude shade it covers my pigmented upper lip quiet well. The formula is creamy and moisturising, applies evenly on lips and quiet has a chemically sweet scent.

Coming to the color range these lip colors come in mostly bright shades and pigmentation of the other colors are good too. While other colours do look quiet glossy like the sheer ones are meant to be but the nude ones don’t project the same. I am leaning more on the negative side as they are highly priced at 750 bucks for a drugstore brand and if you do have chapped lips its better you exfoliate and then apply as it does accentuate chapped lips. The color subtly nude is great nude shade and will suit Indian skin tones but it is a very dupable shade.

Coming to the staying power, it isn’t great though. It doesn’t survive heavy meals but with light snacks it stays upto 3-4 hours. After that you need to touch up. Good thing is it doesn’t really feel like you have applied anything on your lips and doesn’t bleed.

LOVE Colorbar Sheer Creme Lust Lipstick Subtly Nude -WHY?

  • Good packaging
  • Good daily wear/ work shade.
  • Doesn’t bleed.
  • Creamy finish

HATE Colorbar Sheer Creme Lust Lipcolor Subtly Nude -WHY?

  • Highly overpriced.
  • Dupable shade.
  • Average staying power.
  • Doesn’t look good on chapped lips.
  • Will wash out the dusky Indian skintones.

Price: Rs.750

VNA Rating: 3/5

Will I buy again? No, I like the mac sheen supreme ones way better and wouldn’t mind splurging on those instead.

Why should you buy? Actually Colorbar Sheer Creme Lust Lipstick is an average product for the price charged so really I would suggest to splurge either on MAC or L’oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks. Or you can also try the colorbar crème touch ones, they are really good.

  1. I love the shade, I’ll definitely search for some dupes. And when it comes to raising prices, Colorbar & Bourjois take the cake!
