My Review of Chambor Ocean Roses:

I had been to the beauty shop some time back with a friend who wanted to build her kit and I was her guide. So when we reached the Chambor counter, the SA was explaining the discounts and offers and in the meanwhile I spotted this new range of Happy Hues products from Chambor I had never heard of. So I picked up 1 lipstick, 1 blush and 1 nail colour! I don’t know about my friend, but I sure built my makeup kit a bit more, lol. This always happens with me, no regrets!!

Packaging: This chambor lipstick is housed in a cardboard box with beautiful blue and white details that remind me of sea waves that we drew in our art books in school. The actual happy hues lipstick comes with a black matte bottom and the cover which is a duo chrome teal in colour. So gorgeous! Now the interesting part is the moisture plus lipstick bullet. Generally we have seen ‘moisture imparting lipsticks’ with a balmy core and colour all around. But this one is different! It has the coloured part packed with pigments at the core surrounded by the clear balm. How can one resist this unique beauty!

Colour: This shade Ocean Roses is a beautiful red colour wrapped in a layer of clear balm. When swiped on the lips, this colour gets a little muted due to the presence of the balm and turns out to be a beautiful reddish coral shade with a sheen. Its looks super pretty on the lips.

Texture: The texture of this happy hues lipstick is like nothing I have experienced before. It is so very balmy in consistency, somewhat like the Maybelline Baby Lips in Antioxidant Berry, but way more hydrating. This does not slide on the lips very effortlessly, but in a good way. I think a new concept lipstick with lip balm should be of this texture for being long lasting. It is not sticky at all and does not feel uncomfortable or heavy on the lips.

Smell: This lipstick has a mild summery floral type fragrance which feels so beautiful. It’s really fresh and soothing to the senses. I love it!

Pigmentation: This feature has left me astonished! Since the major portion of this ocean roses lipstick is a balm, I was not expecting this to be very pigmented by any means. But to my surprise, this ba by delivers a good colour pay off and is quite buildable. You can wear it very sheer like a lip balm and also build it up for a fuller colour. I am absolutely delighted!

Longevity: Another Yaayy feature of this moisture rich lipstick is its long lasting nature. When I first put it on my lips for testing it out, though I was impressed by the colour pay off, I was pretty ‘meh’ about its longevity. I thought this is just a glorified version of a lip balm with a hefty price tag. I was so wrong! This baby stays put for about 5 hours and provided intense hydration to the lips like no other. This will put your most favourite lip balms to shame!

Quality: This new concept of chambor lipstick has worked for me. I am super impressed with all the features this baby has to offer in terms of packaging, colour pay off and longevity. This lipstick also increases the longevity of the lip liner or lipstick you wear under this. I know what you’re thinking! However good this is, but 750 bucks for a tinted lip balm?? Trust me ladies, this lipstick is one of a kind and its uniqueness and performance will definitely satisfy your expectations and justify its price point!

Recommendation: Absolutely!! Please do not think any further ladies! There are 2 gorgeous shades – Red and Pink so you can pick at least one for the uniqueness that this product offers. I myself am planning to get the pink one now. It is haunting me in my dreams!! So before that happens to you, please run to a store near you and get one home. Be ready for your new found love!!
