The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter Review and Photos

I have this strange liking to weird smells – fresh paint, petrol, Phenol..and I know I’m not alone. Why don’t these designer labels come out with a perfume like this? Its a billion dollar idea! Talking of weird smells, most people crinkle their nose at the mere mention of ginger. If you can have ginger in your tea, why not on your body? (Bandar kya jaane adrak…you know) My first brush with a ginger skin care item was when I picked the LE TBS Ginger Lip Balm over the vanilla one. I so liked it that I went ahead and got a ginger body butter. Its part of the The Body Shop Christmas Holiday Collection Trio of Vanilla Bliss, Cranberry Joy and Ginger Sparkle. You have already read my review on the other two. I will also tell you which one is my favourite out of all three.

The Body Shop Claims: Our iconic Body Butter in a limited-edition festive fragrance. It melts straight in to leave skin feeling softer and smoother.

  • 200 ml
  • 24-hour hydration
  • Zingy ginger scent
  • Leaves skin feeling softer and smoother

Its warm and spicy but not strong. Ofcourse it doesn’t smell exactly like fresh ginger but its sharp. I’m not much into sweet and fruity fragrances anyway. My taste leans more towards aqua, citrus, floral and fresh. Its quite different from what I’m used to and in a good way. If you like to try new fragrances then you must try this. And no its not strong or turns people off..only you will smell it! Its one of the few fragrances in the body butter range which your man can use too unless he is okay with smelling like strawberries, mangoes, peaches and cranberries!

The quality of the body butter is amazing as usual. Its thick and buttery but easy to blend and gets absorbed into the skin quite fast. And boy it moisturizes. It took good care of my skin during the cold winter months. I have not touched a body lotion in a long time. The fragrance stays for 4-5 hours..I know because I keep sniffing my arms when I use it. You can use the Ginger shower gel to layer it.

If you ask for my favourite then it has to be Cranberry. I know after all that talk about weird smells and all! Favourites are favourites..no reasons. Btw ginger is not that weird okay. I dunno but the name reminds me of Hermione’s cat Crookshanks. Now I want my own furry cat and call it Ginger..or just a Gingerbread man will do too. Prrrrrrrrrrrr!

Price: Rs.1295

VNA Rating: 5/5

So is it for you? The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter is a spicy warm fragrance which is not for everyone. If you are into masculine fragrances then you would like it for sure! The quality, texture, staying power, hydration..everything is perfect.

  1. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so
much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something.
I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a
bit, but other than that, this is excellent blog. A great read.
    I’ll definitely be back.
