Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder Review, Swatches: Bali Brown

Review, Swatches, Price, Buy Online Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzer in shade Bali Brown

By Contributor: Aruna

There is a distinct lack of bronzers in the Indian beauty market at the moment. I got the illuminating bronzer from from Bobbi Brown in shade Bali Brown which I will review and swatch today. Also, can I just momentarily pause and gasp about the fact that Bobbi Brown has come to Mumbai? About time, I should say! Unfortunately it is located in Lower Parel and travelling there from my address kind of resembles travelling to Delhi itself. But I am happy that I cannot moan about the fact that Bobbi Brown isn’t there in Mumbai!

So, coming back to the lack of bronzers in the market, I seriously think that drugstore brands should really look into it. Most of us Indian girls think that bronzers will only make them look tan plus the ‘idea’ of fairness stops them from buying bronzers. It is, however, a firm belief of mine that the golden undertones in our complexion can be worked to the best advantage by using the correct bronzer in a right w ay.  Bobbi Brown is rather reputed for her bronzers and her foundations. While the foundations were way out of my price spectrum the bronzers were achingly close, I decided to take the plunge.

Bobbi Brown Claims: A shimmering bronzer that instantly gives skin a healthy, sunkissed glow. This ultra-soft and smooth pressed powder is formulated with a unique and innovative blend of sheer powder and micropearls. It glides on evenly and gives skin a seamless and sheer natural-looking glow.

Shades Available: Telluride, Antigua, Aruba, Bali Brown, Maui, Santa Barbara

My Review of Bobbi Brown Bronzer:

The bronzer comes packaged in a large, glossy black compact with the name on top and the shade name behind it. Minimalistic yet classy are the two words that come to mind. It is large enough to take on the biggest brush you have but it is not overly large which means it is extremely travel friendly. It has a huge mirror inside it, so more points! The locking mechanism is smooth and ensures that your compact doesn’t even have a chance to open up inside your bag. Now coming to sturdiness, I haven’t really tried dropping it on the floor yet (my wallet and heart couldn’t take that kind of trauma) but from what I have learnt from travelling around with it is that it can take a fair amount of jostling which is always a good sign.

The texture of this illuminating bronzer is amazing! It is unarguably, one of the best powder product textures I have come across in a long time. Even MAC blushes don’t stand a chance against it. The powder is soft, finely milled and does contain golden shimmer in it. Blending it is a total dream. It blends out so well, in fact, that it looks like you have a seamless golden tan going on. Those of you who think that bronzers make you look orange and stripey or those of you who are heavy handed will have absolutely no trouble with this.

The pigmentation of Bali Brown is sheer but buildable. So if you are person looking for that soft golden glow or want a healthy amount of tan, this one can work both ways. Those of you paranoid about shimmer, I wouldn’t give it much thought! The shimmer that you see in the pan doesn’t really translate onto skin and none of them are visible even if you stand in direct sunlight! Bali brown is a warm brown terracotta shade with slight reddish undertones in it. I suspect that this colour would play well for medium to medium dark Indian tones. It gives just the right amount of golden tint to the skin which makes it perfect for everyday wear.

Staying power wise this Bobbi Brown bronzer one checks out all the right boxes. It easily lasts around six to eight hours without fading. And even when it starts fading, it does so evenly. The key, I think to wearing this bronzer is using the right brush. If you were to use a densely packed brush then you will pick up too much of powder and take more time blending. A loosely packed brush or a duo fiber brush are perfect for it.

Pros of Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder Bali Brown:

Conclusion: This is a fantastic product to have in your stash if you it fits your budget. If not and if you are a resident of Delhi or even travelling to Delhi, I suggest you check out the Sephora bronzers too. I am doubtful, however, if they will perform as well as this one right here.
