By Contributor: Aditi

I have been hearing rave reviews of Bioderma Sensibio H2O Water for so long now, and have been curious to try! Now do I have it in my possession! I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now and it’s really nice to remove your makeup in a gentle way. If you’re a light make-up wearer, this makeup remover itself would do the job for you. This one is made especially for sensitive skin (hi5 bioderma!!) it is alcohol, paraben free and hypoallergenic which makes it best for my sensitive skin. They also have another micellaire water that is for oily/combination skin.

Bioderma Claims: Sensibio H2O is the 1st and only dermatological micellar water perfectly compatible with the skin: its fatty acid esters, the constituent elements of micelles, are similar to the phospholipids of the skin cell membranes
and naturally help rebuild the skin’s hydrolipidic film.

Instructions for Use: Morning and/or evening – 7 days a week. Soak a cotton pad with Sensibio H2O. Gently cleanse and/or remove make-up from your face and eyes. Re-apply until the cotton pad becomes clean. Lightly dab your face with a clean cotton towel.

My Review of Bioderma Sensibio H2O:

Packaging: I have the cute little bottle made out of clear sturdy plastic with pink accents ,the cap shuts tight and secure. It is a flip top cap and i find it apt for travel (if we had Oscars for convenient packaging, i would have pretty much awarded this little guy with it)

Texture: it is water, yes it is water. Very unlike the regular makeup removers that we have in the market. So no shaking or mixing just simply bloat your cotton swab with this water and slather it on your face, and so it leaves no residue.

90% of the makeup remover/wipes that i have used in the past have made my eyelashes rip off while i struggle with removing the stubborn BENEFIT THEY ARE REAL MASCARA, but if you really almost drench your cotton swab, and like just let it rest on your eyelids it does exempt me from the pain of loosing my lashes while mascara removal, but i don’t see that it gets rid of the mascara 100%, i still see some residue. I don’t know what it is in the hand swatch that got rid of it in a jiffy, but on my eyelashes it doesn’t show the same magic (why, o why)

Bioderma Sensibio H2O make-up removing micellar solution removes make-up from both face and sensitive eye area. It wasn’t able to completely  remove my they’re real mascara (the most stubborn waterproof thing) on my lashes whereas in the swatch it got rid of it completely, and it’s  not only my complaint but i have seen other people also talking about the same issue.

Anyhow i do use my philosophy purity made simple to clear out the mascara business. For the rest of my face this little guy is spot on. It is really effective as spot or error-corrector. For instance if the wing of your eyeliner goes wrong you can just spot correct it with the sensibo H2O and re apply your liner instantly without any fuss as it won’t  leave any oiliness in the area like majority of the other makeup removers do.

This is major part why i really love it, that it doesn’t leave any oiliness or slick feeling. It doesn’t dry out the area nor does it make me feel greasy on the area i use it ( can’t be thankful enough for this) i have tried a lot of makeup removing options. Some just left oil some wipes left a soapy residue but this one is oh so perfect. The only thing i don’t approve of is the inability to remove waterproof mascara or the stubborn colorbar liner too.

Pros of Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellaire Solution:

  • Sturdy packaging, very simple and easy to use
  • The nozzle on the cap doesn’t blurt out excess product, nor does it make difficult to dispense. It is perfect
  • I love that it doesn’t leave any oily residue (can’t have enough of it)
  • Effective for everyday makeup removal
  • Free of harmful chemicals that could be harm to our skin
  • Effective without having the oil+water formula that i am not very fond of
  • I feel since it’s  very effective and we don’t need much so the price point as per quantity is also justified
  • Suitable for sensitive skin, yes it didn’t react on me
  • Can be used as spot corrector

Cons of Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellaire Solution:

  • Unable to remove mascara or heavy ultra waterproof makeup
  • I don’t like the chemistry lab kind of smell.

  1. Compared to other cleansers and eye makeup removers… I really find bioderma the best… My dermat suggested me this product… I have acne prone skin and this is the only product that suited my sensitive skin…

  2. it really is not working easy on removing the makeup. i can see the the colors fading nly after multiple swipes that too not well. The skin needs to be very clean before going to bed. I have been using olive oil, a single swipe and zero product. i dont understand the craze behind micellair solutions. i dont find it in a must have list for sure. thanks for sharing brief and honest post cheers
