Today’s topic of discussion, the good old night cream. The best part about investing in a nourishing Night cream is that you will not have harsh pollutants from outside exposure ‘sticking’ on to your cream, thus leading you in to more harm than benefit. With the winters on full-swing, a good moisturizing Night Cream for dry and dull skin problem is all the more handy in order to keep dry skin well-nourished, so that you wake up ‘morning –beautiful’.
You know, that term, the over-rated and over used term? Oh yes, ‘she is a natural beauty’ or that one ,’she wakes up beautiful’. I have always, envied such women. I, who have gallons of oils stocked-up in my skin and have faced serious problems of Pimples for the larger part of my life, have dreaded spotting a new pimple first thing in the morning. I remember feeling great if I had ‘one’ less a pimple from the zillions on my face the last night, thinking that my skin was getting better. But come winter and my skin gets dry and
My ultimate goal in life was to wake-up flawless. Like those gorgeous women in advertisements, who own silky skin and sexy satin lingerie, a three-poster bed and a super gorgeous hunk of a husband (and a cute pet Dog as well) who seems to worship her ‘natural morning beauty’. To tell the truth, I got most of my wishes fulfilled (good looking husband included). My secret was simple; make your ‘sleep time’ during the nights in to a deep skin treatment time.
This is mainly because; your skin gets optimum time to repair and recover as it is at complete rest, just like the rest of your body. It is during the night-time that you are finally ‘off duty’, with your chores well-taken care of and within the sanctuary of your home. Thus away from the harsh effects of the everyday pollution. This gives the various skin care products to work their best, thus helping you get rid of your skin woes; be it Pimples, scars, dry skin, oily skin or the uneven skin tone. Now, let us take a look at some of the best dry skin Night Creams we have in the Indian market that will help you wake-up ‘ever beautiful’ the next morning.
Rs 125 for 50 Gms
This appears to be more of a Winter-special product as it is Fruit-based. Our very own Lakme has come up with the ultimate formula that is focused on providing deep nourishment and repair during the Nights. The delicious fragrance of Strawberry is enough to have you buy this product as the natural smell manages to linger on to your skin all the way to the morning. However, here is a word of caution for those of you who have their skin more on the ‘oilier-side’, as it cannot be used during the summers. Back to the cream, it does leave the skin supple and bright the next-day. Perfect night cream on a budget.
Rs 449 for 50 gms
The Pond’s Flawless White Re-Brightening Night Treatment is a dream-come-true for those of us who are of the Oily-skin type but need something extra in winter months. The product is quick absorbing, leaving you with a well-nourished skin the next morning. This particular Night Cream does wonders if you are struggling with long-time scars, as it is reviewed to help fade them away with time.
The over-all skin tone is evened out and a subsequent brightening is also observed. However, a serious word of caution for people with Sensitive skin, as slight break-outs and mild tingling sensations can occur. For this, do go for the Patch-test before you use the product all over your face.
Rs 795 for 50 ml
The Body Shop products are known to deliver as promised and this Night Cream from the brand does just that. This is a mild-formulated product that offers you a nourishment and repair as you sleep, thus giving you supple skin the next morning. The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream is more of a ‘soufflé-type’ and does not leave your skin greasy after application. The best part is that, a small amount is sufficient to cover your face-area, that way you are sure to have the product last longer as well. One of the most popular night cream brands in India for dry skin.
Rs 215 for 50 ml
This particular Night Cream is more favorable for Combination dry skin, as it is quite mild on the face. The typical ‘Herbal’ fragrance of the range is quite soothing and it also helps you sleep well! Considerable rate of tightening and firming is also noticed as the formula is focused more on this particular skin-issue. Go for VLCC Night Cream if you like to play it safe with rapid results.
Rs 170 for 50 Gms
This is a dream-come-true for the Dry skin woes as the formula is quite moisturizing and oily. You require just a tiny amount of the Himalaya Night Cream to make it work all over your face, as the product is quite ‘rich’ in texture. Not only is the cream going to last you a while, the fragrance is heavenly too. The Himalaya Revitalizing Night Cream is a safe-bet if you have been long suffering from excessive dry-skin, as it leaves you feeling pampered and nourished in the morning. Undoubtedly, the best ever night cream for dry skin from an Indian brand.
Rs 299 for 50 Gms
The Olay Natural White Healthy Fairness Night Cream is a perfect choice for harsh winter months when your skin is at its dry-best. The product is moisturizing and creamy in texture and comes in a tub. However, other than the hygiene-aspect because of the packaging, this Night Cream is quite good as it is reviewed to leave you with a supple and deeply moisturized skin the next morning.
Rs 1695 for 40ml
Quite pricey I’d say, nevertheless, worth every penny of the amount. The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Whitening Night Treatment is highly recommended. For those of you with sensitive and problematic skin, as the product promises a nice night-treatment ‘feel’, all the while taking care of the breakouts and other skin issues you might endure otherwise. It is quick to absorb within the deeper layers of the skin and has the good old Aloevera as its main ingredient as well. Grab this particular cream if you have the money to splurge and wish to take a safe-bet with your night treatment.
Rs 975 for 50 Gms
One of my old favorites and a well-trusted product, this night treatment from the home of Forest Essentials is a sure keeper. Like most of the products from this brand, the Jasmine and Patchauli night cream stays-put to its promise and delivers a well-nourished and smooth skin after just a couple of uses. It is light in texture and quick to absorb, giving you a non-greasy finish that allows you to use the product even during the day. However, keep in mind that most of the Night Treatment creams are photosensitive, so it is not advised to use them during the day unless you are sure about the results.
Rs 549
This product is advised for girls with dry-to-combination skin as it is on the ‘greasier-side’. However, the Oriflame Night Gel-Cream is required only in a very tiny amount for it to work its magic on your skin. If used wisely, you can also use it on the oilier T-zone of your face and wake-up to great results. Grab your nourishment night cream jar this winter if you have been battling morning puffiness and unpredictable skin troubles.
Rs 795 for 50 ml
This is one of the most under-rated products lately and does not enjoy the ‘fanfare’ it otherwise deserves. The Nature’s Co White Tea Night Cream is what you call ‘all-in-one’ skin treatment that works great for almost all skin types. It is quick absorbing, does not leave a sticky shine and it not over-drying either! Quite a wonder for a cream I’d say. The next day you are rewarded with a nice soft, well-hydrated and smooth skin that looks well-loved and well-tended to.
Well my dear people, that’s a wrap until next time. Try out any of the above listed creams for night time if you wish to get rid of your dry skin problems in winters, as the Nights are best suited for your skin to revive as well. This is what worked for me and trust me when I say, I actually got rid of ‘every’ single problems regarding my skin by tending to it with the right products during the Nights.

Thanks for sharing your experience Koel... HIMALAYA products are indeed good... I am using the Baby care range for my kids and they are quite good

Wow awesome compilation. My favorite is Olay and TBS.
So many options for a night cream. I might try Pond's or Himalaya night cream.
