Avon Ultra Color Lipsticks Matte Lily and Matte Garnet Review
If Lily is your fav character in HIMYM then raise your hand! Oh how I love that cunning dramatic little thing. Another Lily I totally love is Superwoman (watching her daily vlogs right now). There is another Lily in my life which I am absolutely addicted to and its the new Ultra Color matte lipstick from Avon. That along with Garnet is what I will review and swatch today. I’ve been using them for last 2-3 months non stop which just proves how much I love them.
Avon Claims: Avon Ultra matte Color Lipsticks moisturises the lips while putting a vivid, dramatic, color. Their velvety texture envelops the lips in full rich color without dry ing and has SPF 15

Avon Matte Lily is a cool toned pink with a hint of mauve in it. This sort of pink is right up my alley. I like my pink lipsticks to be cool toned as they tend to brighten up my complexion. It would work for fair to medium skin tones. I am NC 40 and suits me really well but I guess if are above NC 42 then it might be a little too bright for you. I usually blot it a little to make it look matte which is how I like it more.
Avon Matte Garnet is a deep red with warm tones. It would work quite well for dusky Indian skin tones. I like my red lipsticks to be blue so I don’t reach for it often but if you are looking for a very deep and glossy red then its for you. Just one swipe and you have a rich opaque colour.

In terms of texture they are very very creamy (quite contrary to the name!) but I guess by matte Avon meant they don’t have any shimmer? These are my go to lipsticks when my lips are dry and I am too lazy to use a lip balm. These Avon lipsticks don’t settle in the lip lines and go on very rich and easy.
The staying power of the lipsticks is around 4-5 hours. Matte Lily doesn’t leave a stain behind but Matte Garnet leaves a deep red stain.

Swatches in natural light: left – Lily, right: Garnet
This is how Lily looks on me after around 4hours. Ooooh I just love this shade

And that’s how Garnet looks on me. Quite a mature shade for me

Pros of Avon Ultra Color Matte Lipsticks Lily and Garnet:
- The creamy and hydrating texture
- Pigmentation is incredible. Just one swipe is enough.
- Never settle in lip lines
- The staying power is pretty good for a creamy formula
- The pink one brightens up my face and works as an everyday colour for me.
- Red one is more deep and mature and apt for evenings.
Avon Ultra Color Matte Lipsticks Garnet and Lily:
- Actually I can’t find anything which I don’t like. Ofcourse I would liked them to be matte as claimed but I am enjoying the creamy formula too.

Price: Rs. 375 each
VNA Rating: 4/5
So is it for you? Avon Ultra Color Matte Lipsticks are great budget buys if you love pigmented and creamy formulas. I love Lily more because it brightens up my face. They are an absolute delight for someone with dry lips because they literally feel like butter. I am usually a matte lip lover but these are so low maintenance that I have to recommend them!
This was quite a fun shoot. We went to Select City Walk for our weekly malling and since the weather was so good and location so romantic I took out my stuff and started taking pics. A whole lot of reviews coming up!

Hi! Nice review. I just wanted to ask. I heard some people say Avon lipsticks could make your lips darker? Have you experienced that? :)
