For hair care, green tea has the potential to exterminate dandruff and psoriasis by reducing inflammations. It also softens the hair roots and stimulates hair growth. You do not have to spend big bucks to buy green tea beauty products. Here are the 5 best simple and quick green tea face masks and hair masks for every skin type: dry, oily and sensitive. Green tea raises the body’s metabolism rate and helps in speeding fat oxidation. So drinking green tea daily can actually help you shed some extra weight. It flushes toxins out of your bodies and helps reduce excess water retention. Green tea is naturally packed with rich antioxidants which help out the body by protecting it from free radicals. Free radicals are naturally occurring particles in our bodies and accelerate ageing and an increased risk of several major diseases. Drinking green tea daily promotes good health and makes you look younger. List of 5 Best DIY Green Tea Face Masks and Hair Masks:

Egg Yolk and Green Tea Mask Recipe for soft hair:

Egg yolk makes hair shiny, soft and lustrous while green tea helps stimulate hair growth and helps reduce hair fall. This mask is easy to make and the ingredients you need for it are:

  • Whole eggs (2 if you have medium sized hair, 1 if you have shorter hair or more than 3 if you have very long hair).
  • Green tea (I drink Tetley green tea so I will using its tea bags for our masks)

Procedure: Crack open eggs in a bowl and set it aside. Fill half a cup with the lukewarm water and dip 2 green tea bags in it and let it brew for 5-8 minutes. Add the tea in small amounts to the eggs and mix properly. The mixture consistency should be neither too thick, nor too runny and the colour will be light brown. Why let those leaves go to waste? Cut open the Tetley green tea bags and pour the leaves into the mixture and mix everything up. Apply the whole mixture, to the scalp first then work your way out towards then ends. Keep the mask on for 30-40 minutes then rinse off with water completely before using your favourite shampoo and conditioner. Immediate results can be seen as the hair will be super soft and shining! Use this mask 2 times a week for best results and continued nourishment.

Het up the mixture for not more than 2-3 minutes then let it sit and cool down. Apply it on the scalp with fingers and take this opportunity to massage your scalp as well. Leave it on for 45 minutes or 1 hour then wash off!

Lemon Juice Green Tea face mask Recipe:

You will need ½ teaspoon of squeezed lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of (cooled) freshly brewed green tea. You can also add in a pinch of turmeric for extra protection against inflammation and acnes.

Procedure: Mix all the ingredients together. Take a cotton ball and dip it into the mixture then dab it on to your skin. Repeat after 3 minutes or when the pack is completely dry. When the whole mixture is used up, leave it on for 10-15 minutes then wash off with water. Your skin will be brighter and glowing from within. It will be super soft and squeaky clean as well.

This can be used as a very mild exfoliator for everyday, gentle exfoliation. It is quick and easy to make and the ingredients are super easy to find.

Procedure: In a 1/3 filled cup, brew 1 green tea bag in water and let it sit till the water is lukewarm. In a bowl, pour in 2 tablespoons of regular sugar and add in a few tablespoons of Tetley green tea in it

until completely dissolved. Add another tablespoon of sugar in it and mix it. The consistency will be semi-thick. Use a cotton pad, scoop up the mixture and rub it all over your face. Gently exfoliate the skin with the mask for a few minutes then wash off with water.

Green tea helps the body glow inside out if taken every day as a drink and applied as masks every once in a while. Miranda Kerr revealed that the secret to her beautiful kin is having a green tea infused bath. Though it may not be convenient for us to have green tea baths, we certainly can make up for it by drinking it and applying these masks as an organic beauty regime for our skin to make it more soft, healthy and glowing! I have tried a lot of brands but I like how Tetley green tea tastes and it also works great for my DIY green tea recipes for healthy skin and hair.
