Fair & Lovely has been a household name in Indian families for decades now. I remember during my childhood it was one of the things that you were sure to find in almost all dressing tables was the Fair and Lovely Fairness Cream. Now the brand has variations of the classic fairness cream along with face wash and men’s product. The latest in the range is the brand foundation + BB cream which I will review and swatch today. BB creams have taken India by storm. Major brands in India have launched their BB cream quite successfully and this new Fair and Lovely cream is here to give them a tough competition.
Fair and Lovely Claims: makes you look perfect instantly. It gives an instant fair look with a make-up like finish. The Cream has five unique features:

Matte, Non-Oily Feel
My Review of BB Cream:
To begin with, let’s talk about the amount and packaging. The newest BB cream in India
Now coming to the review of the cream. I have been using the product for about a week now, and I would like to go through each of the features that the cover mentions and my take on them based on application.
Instant Fair Look: The cream delivers here. I found my skin tone to lighter up enough to feel a difference after using the BB cream. And this has a lasting effect too. I could easily apply a coat on my way out for the day, and then sometime during the lunchtime, just a touch of compact, and I looked just as good as I did when I went out in the morning. So, not only do you get an instant fair look, the look last for a really long time. So, in that aspect, it is a really great day cream which doubles up as foundation.
Coverage of Dark Spots and Blemishes: Well, to be completely honest, the foundation + fairness cream is not that great at covering up dark spots and blemishes if you have too many like me due to oily pimple prone skin. But the fairer look does help in hiding faded dark spots. But, I wouldn’t brag too much about it.
Even Skin Tone: Although I liked what it did with my skin tone, I am a little apprehensive about how it would look for all the other Indian tones. However, I would say, applying it to your face as well as neck does even out the skin tone pretty well.
Skin Protection- SPF 15: During these scorching summer months, it’s always important to have sunscreen in all the products you use. Although SPF 15 is a lot on the lower side, I was happy it did provide the basic sun protection.
Matte, Non-Oily Feel: I would say this was another amazing feature of the fair lovely BB Cream. I have oily skin in general, and after applying the cream, I felt the difference immediately. It was fast absorbing too, and took very little effort to apply.
Other Features: One another remarkable quality of this cream is its sweet smell. Although initially a bit strong, after a little while, it turns into a really subtle scent that stays with you all day long.
Financially too, the Fair and Lovely BB cream gives a tough competition to its contemporaries. The 18g bottle comes for only Rs. 79. And the bottle can easily be put in any normal purse or handbag with no chance of leaking. So, let’s do a roundup of all the pros and cons of this product now.
Pros of the Fair and Lovely BB Cream:
- It gives an instant fair look that stays all day long.
- It has sunscreen (SPF 15) so it protects the skin against the summer sun.
- It gives a non-oily feel.
- It is easily absorbed and leaves a subtle sweet scent.
- It goes easy on the pocket, with the 18g tube costing just Rs. 79.
- It is compact and can be easily carried around.
Cons of the Fair and Lovely BB Cream:
- It has just one shade, so isn’t suitable for all Indian skin tones.
- It does not effectively cover blemishes and dark spots.
- The nozzle is wide and makes applying dots of the product difficult.

Concluding Remarks: So, although this is an inexpensive buy and helps in getting an instant fair look, I would recommend something with a higher SPF value for the winters, and better application abilities.

Nice… My skin is so sensitive. Can i use the fair & lovely bb cream.
When i applied that bb cream on my face , after sometime it give me dark look and my t zone area become too oily, it does not suit to me because i have little dark skin tone so i think that fair and lovely bb cream is not good for dark skin tone but better for fair skin tone otherwise i love that fair and lovely brands and its products except its bb cream.
