Shahnaz Husain is famous for her range of skin care products that are herbal, natural and Ayurvedic. They are available and trusted world wide. Neither does she or her brand need an introduction. But for the uninitiated, her brand has been around for years and is centered around the Indian women who look for more ayurvedic ingredients in their skin care be it face washes, lotions, night creams, day creams, etc. She also has her own salons. I will straightway move over to a list of 10 of her best products in India and their mini product reviews along with the price list.
Costs INR 670 for 200ml in India. The consistency of the product is non-sticky and transparent. It is wonderful for oily skin. It is odour less and does its job of removing pigmentation quite well. Using this product twice daily will cause a marked difference in the appearance of pigmentation. The consistency is water like so it is not at all heavy. The amount lasts for a really long time as a little bit goes a long way. The packaging is attractive with a white body and gold screw on cap. One of the best sellers in Shahnaz Husain range of products.
Costs INR 125 for 9ml in India and the shelf life is 2 years. Unlike the usual sindoor packaging which is usually round, this product comes in a cylindrical tube with a red screw on cap, like a lipgloss. The consistency is like a thick cream but since the packaging is firm, it stops any spills hence making it travel-friendly. On application of very thick layers, it will take a long time to set and will spread around but thin layers dry quickly and don’t stray. The colour is a very rich shade of maroon with a good amount of pigmentation. It doesn’t irritate the skin and has a natural plant like smell. The ingredients are all natural so it is safe to use without worrying about skin damage.
Costs INR 300-400 in India. The product comes in a lip-stick like case which makes it a fun product to use. It is easy to apply, use and remove. It is not smudge free and can run down due to humidity after a few hours. The black colour is rich and intense , which is what one usually looks for in a kajal. The quantity lasts for a really long time, even after everyday use. It has a mirror on the cap, so you can use it on the go. It smells like kajal used to in the olden days when it was prepared at home, giving it an extra kick!
Costs INR 800-850 for 100ml in India. Lightly massage this cream directly under your eyes for a few minutes then leave it on for 15 minutes, then remove. The consistency is jelly like and green in colour. If refrigerated, the cold gel when applied will feel amazing. If used on a regular basis, effects can be seen. Dark circles are visibly reduced and makes the eyes look fresh and awake. It is travel-friendly and suitable for all skin types and comes with a very mild fragrance.
Costs INR 600-700 in India. Gently run the gold scrub onto your neck and face in circular motions then wipe off with a moist cotton ball. Then take sufficient amount of the gold gel and massage until absorbed followed by the moisturizing cream. Finally, apply the gold mask, generously on the skin then leave it on for 15 minutes then use a moist cotton ball to clear your skin. Skin feels soft and clear after finished and even glows a little. Costs INR 400-500 for 40g in India. The product comes in a light blue, translucent packaging which is very pretty and attractive. Its consistency is thick, is white in colour and has an herbal fragrance that is not over-powering. It moisturizes wonderfully, giving a dewy effect without the greasy factor. It slowly soothes out the wrinkles but not completely and gives the face a certain glow which women in their 30’s and 40’s want.
Costs INR 300-450 for 100gm in India. The product comes in a squeeze tube which is chocolate brown in colour and has a flip-open, screw cap making it easy to use and is hygienic. Chocolate lovers should be careful not to lick it because it smells heavily of chocolate! The mask itself is not very thick and easily squeezes out of the tube and spreads easily. After application, it dries within 15 minutes and skin starts to feel tight. Washing of with water is fine, instead of using milk. There are small particles present which exfoliate gently when rubbing it in circular motions while washing off. Washing off takes a little time due the products sticky consistency. Skin looks and feels even and smooth after use. It pulls out all the oil and dirt and leaves skin looking bright, clean and happy.
Costs INR 400-500 in India. The packaging is not very attractive as far as eyeliners go it has a small mirror in its body, making it easy to use on the go. The colour is rich and deep black in colour suitable for everyday use and smells like rose water. What is amazing about this product is its cooling effects. Using water is enough to remove the product. The applicator could have been better. This eyeliner is easily available.
Costs INR 200-300 for 50gm in India and shelf life is 3 years. It comes in a small tube and the product is bright green in colour and has a gel like consistency. The fragrance is very refreshing. It foams up really nice and cleanses the skin beautifully by removing oil and normal make-up. Skin doesn’t feel irritated or scratchy. It keeps the acne at bay and maintains its shield for a long time. Due to the presence of glycerine, it might be a little hard to wash off but it is a wonderful face wash for oily or other skin types. It contains extracts from tulsi, aloe vera, neem and lemon.
Costs INR 1000-1300 in India for 180gm. The packaging is very cute and the product comes in a white, dome like container. The consistency of the cream is silky smooth which spreads amazingly. Only a little amount is needed to moisturize the face, hence making the product last longer. It is suitable for all skin types and is natural, ayurvedic and chemical free. It keeps the moisture locked throughout the day, nourishing and hydrating it thoroughly. Skin looks radiant after 2 weeks of regular application.
