Skincare Special: 2 Lotus Herbals Sunscreens Reviews, Swatches

I have always loved Lotus Herbals when it comes to sunscreens. When every other sunscreen out there failed me, there sunscreens came to my rescue. I’ve used almost all of their sunscreens which come in different consistences and  SPF. Here I’m reviewing two of them. They are both good. You may pick any of them depending on your needs.

Lotus Herbals 3 in 1 Matte Look Daily Sunblock

It Says: 3-in-1 daily sunblock is a revolutionary sun protection formulation which combines broad-spectrum UVA & UVB protection with skin lightening ingredients to give a uniform matte finish to the skin. Its fast absorption and non-greasy formula ensures a shine-free, light & clean feel.

Price: Rs.295 for 120g

Forget moisturisers because here comes a tinted sunscreen. And I can buy anything that’s remotely tinted..lip balms, moisturisers and now sunscreens.
It gives a sheer coverage but enough to even out my tone and replace my usual Ponds TM. No, I still use my HG TM, but with another sunscreen (read below). But this one I use when I don’t want to use many products. Keep it in your bag, and it would replace your makeup base and sunscreens. And since it gives this matte look, it would replace your compact too. What more can you ask for?
In hot summer months, it kept the oil away from my face for a good 3-4hours. In winters, I skip the compact and wear it as it is. Dry skin girls, I’m sure you will like it too. And the SPF 40 and PA+++ is totally a bonus.
Its not travel friendly. I once took it on my trip to Pune and it spilled in my bag. So I generally avoid taking it out for longer journeys

Lotus Herbals Anti-Tan Gel

It Says: Safe Sun Absolute is the single answer to all your sun care needs. This Anti Tan specialist range from Lotus Herbals provides broad spectrum protection against all of Sun’s harmful rays. It especially protects against the long wavelength UVA rays that are the primary cause of skin darkening and tanning and affect us throughout the year. Safe Sun Absolute Anti-tan Gel is a medium intensity cooling sunscreen gel especially formulated for oily & combination skin. It has the soothing goodness of Calendula and Vanilla extracts.

Price: Rs.195 for 60g

Another favourite for oily skin girls. This one is from their Anti-tan range which consists of a face pack, scrub, face wash and this sunscreen. Since this is a gel and not cream, it gets absorbed easily without looking greasy and shiny. And it gives this menthol like cooling effect on application. I used to detect it on the first few applications, now I don’t even notice it. The best thing is I can apply as as much as I want without ruining my makeup. Alternatively, I also use it when I’m using heavy moisturisers to balance out everything.

I didn’t see any effect on my existing tan but it does prevents tanning to some extent.

So is it for you? I love using both of them. One gives a nice tint with sun protection and the another is ideal when I want something very light on my skin. I highly recommend both of them.
