Sally Hansen Miracle Cure for Severe Problem Nails Review and Photos
By Contributor: Mani
How we love the holiday spirit fueled by seasonal discounts, sparkly decked up malls, winter coats and mufflers, steamy frothy coffees and the yummy home made gajar ka halva!! Ahh..those little pleasures in life! But in all this excitement I don’t forget my nails. Today I am going to review Sally Hansen Miracle Cure for Severe Problem Nails. Its a nail strengthener meant for girls with brittle and peeling nails.
Sally Hansen Claims: Stops nails from peeling! Guaranteed. 50% Stronger nails in 3 days! Exclusive Micro-Mineral Formula fills in cracks to instantly strengthen and reinforce nails. Instantly stops peeling, seals the nail plate and bonds layers together. Strong moisture magnets target severe dryness with intensive moisture. Natural Proteins and powerful Anti-Oxidants penetrate the nail to help strengthen nails from within. Salon Tested – Dermatologist Tested. Special Ingredients: Natural Protein, Mineral and Anti-Oxidant Formula bonds nails to stop peeling, breaking or splitting.
The color and texture: This is a no frills base coat for nail improvement and management. Transparent in color, it provides sheer glassy coverage to the nails. It does well as both base and top coat. It has a thick consistency and hence starts to thicken in the bottle after repetitive usage. I make sure I lid it quickly after application and turn the fan off during the application. I have been using it since a few months now and I do see slight thickening on the paint. Having said that, it has only an ok drying power and takes a few minute to dry up on your nails . Those of us who have been spoilt by the “quick dry” genre of nail polishes might find that a bit bothersome.
The applicator brush: The applicator brush is a big disappointment. It is a long skinny one that brings out loads of the polish all along its length and blobs it on the nail at one place. One needs to spread the paint quickly all over the nail as it starts to thicken very fast. The brush bristles are of good quality and do not feather out.
The packaging: Sally Hansen Miracle Cure comes in a blue oval bottle with a slender golden cap. The packaging could seem bulky for a few as the glass bottle is heavy. I personally like my nail paints to be tiny and light so that I can fit at least a few in my bag.
The Miracle Cure effect: To put it in simple words, Sally Hansen Miracle Cure does what it claims. My toe thumb nails have always peeled like no one’s business leaving me with embarrassingly ugly nail remains that were sometimes even painful. I have not seen any of my nails chip off ever since I started using this polish. I use this as a base coat for both my finger and toe nails and in fact never apply color on my nails without this as a base. It can also serve as a simple top coat. Besides this it does nothing for nail discoloration/ protection.
