NYX HD Photogenic Concealer Wand Review and Swatches
By Contributor: Mamta
Hope you all are enjoying spring and all set to welcome summers soon. I am going to talk about my current favorite concealer from NYX. Concealer for me has always been a must have thanks to my dark circles. So recently I got this one as it seemed really promising from the name and also Nyx claims it to be one of their best selling products. I got the shade beige for my Mac NC 30 skin tone.
NYX Claims: This lightweight cover-up obscures imperfections, discoloration and under eye circles, without ever looking cakey or obvious. Little wonder the Concealer Wand is one of our best-sellers. The concentrated, emollient-rich formula goes on like a dream, and creates medium to heavy coverage. It’s non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog your pores.
Nyx HD Photogenic Concealer Wand in beige is a creamy neutral beige shade best suitable for lighter skin tones. The color is a shade lighter than my skin tone but works well to give a good brightening effect under eyes without looking ashy. I like the fact that it has neutral undertones and is not too yellow for me. They have a whopping 8 shades to suit from and most Indian skin tones will find a suitable shade, the shade I have is fourth from the lightest.
It comes in a simple transparent plastic tube similar to a lip gloss, and has a nice sponge tip doe foot applicator attached to a black cap. The tube is small and can be carried around very easily. And the complete ingredients list is mentioned on the tube itself.
The concealer has a thick and creamy texture with a very smooth consistency. It has a slightly dry texture and a good moisturizing eye cream cannot be skipped before application! I need to be quick with blending it as it tends to dry very quickly and hence a fluffy concealer brush makes application very easy , Mac 217 works very well with it. It feels very comfortable on skin and sets on its own immediately after application to give a seamless finish. But a light dusting of powder makes it last even longer and will especially help during coming summers.
It has good medium to full coverage very much buildable, and a single layer covers most of my dark circles, but on special occasions when I need full coverage I apply two layers. It is very pigmented and you literally need a very small amount every time. I was surprised to see that it works equally well with layering and does not look cakey at all just like NYX has claimed!
I have oily skin and normal under eyes and staying power on me is pretty good as it is waterproof, it stays well in place for almost the whole day I see slight fading after 8-9 hours without setting into lines under eyes or creasing.
What I like about Nyx HD Photogenic Concealer Wand:
- Simple and convenient packaging
- Medium to full coverage
- Smooth and creamy texture
- Very natural finish
- Sets quickly on its own
- Feels very comfortable and lightweight
- Great staying power, lasts almost whole day
- Very pigmented, little goes a long way

- Ingredients list mentioned on the packaging
- Suitable for all skin types
What I don’t like about Nyx HD Photogenic Concealer Wand:
- Not all shades are easily available in India
- Blending has to be done very quickly
- Does not work very well with fingers and a blending brush is more suitable
- Under eyes have to be moisturized properly prior to application

Do I recommend ? Nyx HD Photogenic Concealer Wand is a great concealer that comes in many shade options, has great coverage and flawless finish, the price is also very reasonable for such a good product. I highly recommend it to everyone!
