The winters are over now and before I could enjoy some sunny days, rainy season has already begun in Assam. I am so sad. It is more than ten days now. It has been raining and thundering and I am doing nothing except cuddling in my bed! Anyway, I am here to review a new body lotion from the house of Nivea. I along with my mother have been using Nivea Q10+ firming body lotion for three weeks now and I think it would be worth sharing my review with all of you.

Nivea claims:  This formula is enriched with 3 active ingredients: Q10 coenzyme, Creatine and L- Carnitine. It stimulates the breakdown of fat cells into valuable energy.

Results:

• Noticeably improves the skin firmness in 2 weeks.

• Your skin looks and feels more toned.

• Intensively moisturizes and strengthens the skin.

My Review:

Nivea Firming lotion comes in the classic Nivea packaging – in a sturdy bottle with a flip open cap. The packaging is strong and simple.

Nivea firming body lotion is shell white in color and it has a bit runny consistency. It has a not-so-strong, lingering and pleasant fragrance. It is very moisturizing but greasy. The application of this body lotion right after a shower leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and moisturized. It feels greasy and that is the reason which does not make the lotion fit for summers. The main purpose of Q10 Firming Body lotion is to firm skin within two weeks. I do not have any flaps or loose skin or fatty areas to firm using this product. But my mom has! Mom and I have been using Nivea body lotion for three weeks now, and, from the results achieved so far, I can say that the Nivea firming body lotion does not show much effect in the ‘skin firming’ part of its claims.

The body lotion, though it has a bit runny consistency, is not at all lightweight. It feels heavy and greasy on the skin but intensely moisturizes the skin for 4-5 hours. The body lotion is more like a heavy moisturizing lotion for winters. My mom has been using this lotion as well and she says that she cannot feel any firming action by this body lotion.  I cannot say if Q10 Body Lotion would begin its ‘firming’ job with extended usage but to me, it is a regular, moisturizing but greasy body lotion. Its most suited for winters or very dry skin which needs a lot of moisture.

Pros of Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion:

• Pleasant fragrance.
• Strong packaging.
• Good for using in winters.
• Intensively moisturizes skin.
• Makes skin feel toned and soft.
• Suitable for dry skin.

Cons of Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion:

• Does not live up to its claims. Not at least in two weeks as it claims!
• It weighs down my skin and feels heavy in summers.

Conclusion: Nivea Q10 Lotion is not something I would recommend to anyone for firming skin. Do not expect any firming action but it works just fine as a good hydrating body lotion. It can be a good moisturizer in winter months. I will try it out again in winters. I recommend it to those with very dry skin who need extra moisturization.
