Review, Swatches, Price, Buy Online Maybelline Baby Lips color Bloom Colour Changing Lip Balms in Pink Bloom, Peach Bloom
With the winters approaching, lip balms and hand creams are going to be my new best friends. I swear by the original baby lips by Maybelline and have them in all possible variants. I keep one in my bag, one in my office drawer and one at home at my bedside. Maybelline recently relaunched the color changing color bloom lip balms in two flavors, pink bloom and peach bloom which I will review today. They were available some years ago in India as color bloom lip balms with names pink blossom and peach blossom. They have also changed the packaging which was printed with floral pattern earlier. The new baby lips packaging is plain and simple but cute. Here is my review of these two new maybelline baby lips balms.
These original baby lips from maybelline are wonderfully emollient and keep my “drier than the Thar desert” lips soft and moisturized. Speaking of dry lips, which are your favorite lip balms? My favorite lip balm is from Forest Essentials. The brand makes luxurious and rich formulas.
If you do not like store bought products, making a DIY lip balm at home
is also very easy. Just take some vaseline and heat it. Add honey when it is melted and mix. Allow it to set and voila! Your customized lip balm is ready. You can also add some essential oil for the flavor. Applying a lip balm every night before sleeping helps in cell regeneration at night and add to the softness of the lips.
My Review of Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Bloom and Peach Bloom:
The maybelline lip balms come in a bright colorful packaging. The packaging is chic and light. These color changing balms are made in Thailand and have product description in another language. The product is marketed as a color changing lip balm which adapts to the lip color depending on the heat and pH of the body. The maybelline pink bloom lip balm is bright white in color and the maybelline peach bloom is a light yellow in color. At 1.7 grams, these lip balms will last around 2-3 months if used regularly.
The color bloom baby lips contain SPF-16 which provides sun protection to the lips as well. Many people do not think that lips tan but in reality, lips turn dark and uneven when exposed to sunlight for a prolonged period. The staying power of these new baby lips is around 2-3 hours on my lips with normal snacking in between. They do not survive meals. The lip balm is infused with vitamin E and jojoba oil to moisturize the lips. The texture is balmy and exactly like the original maybelline baby lips.
The pigmentation, however, does not impress me that much. The color changing baby lips do not add that much color to the lips. My lips just look a little glossier than usual. The pink bloom lip balm does add a hint of pink to the lips but i like products which add a little more coverage. It leaves a pretty natural stain on the lips even after fading. The peach bloom lip balm does not show up on me at all. Ladies with pigmented lips will not like these baby lips balms that much.
I like the original chubby baby lips much more as they moisturize and add some color. The shelf life of the product is three years. I basically use up my lip balms in 2 months so three years is fine. Also, the twist up packaging is very easy to use and the product remains clean that way. One problem i cam across was that the maybelline lip balms melt if kept in extreme heat , because of the soft texture. Keep them in cool conditions to retain shape. I once left it in my car and when i came back, the lip balm was no longer a balm and has turned all squishy.
Conclusion: I like these baby lips lip balms for their consistency and moisturizing properties but not for the color. They are a great savior for emergencies but i will pick up the original baby lips over these color changing pink bloom and peach bloom for their color. Lip balms become a necessity in winters and dry chapped lips are not a pretty sight. Try these color bloom lip balms and stock them up if they suit your lips. They are good for daily use for small outings or for days when lipsticks feel too heavy on the lips.
