Review, Swatches, Price of Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm in Fierce N Tangy

By Contributor: Aruna

Maybelline has recently revamped their entire baby lips collection and has come up with a new range called Electro Pops. According to the description these lip balms will give you an electric pop of colour along with moisturization and hydration which lasts for 8 hours. The Baby lips lip balms range has been a huge hit in India with its beautiful colors and Alia Bhatt endorsing it. The new range has around 4 flavours in it but I got the transparent shade called Fierce N Tangy. Let’s start with the review and swatches and look at how it fared.

Maybelline Claims: Maybelline New York Baby Lips Electro Pop Fierce N Tangy Transparent Lip Balm. Enriched with exclusive botanical cell repair concentrate and a blend of effective ingredients like honey, shea butter, vitamin E and collagen, this lemon flavoured lip balm

hydrates and softens lips and keeps them smooth for up to eight hours.

My Review:

The shiny new packaging is very impressive. Electro Pop is trendy and chic without being heavy and slips easily into one’s handbag or clutch. It has a young and peppy vibe to it which makes it even more attractive. The best part, however, is that if you have more than 1 of these electro pop lip balms you can easily recognize the shade through the colour of the font on the lid.

Texture wise this lip balm is a high scorer. If you are on the lookout for a lip balm which will sit lightly on your lips and give you a good feeling if you rub your lips together, look no further than baby lips! The texture of these maybelline lip balms is perfect and after a few minutes you will forget that you have applied anything to your lips at all.

The shade which I have is Fierce N Tangy which is yellow lemon and the bullet is a rather scary looking yellow but the pack says it is transparent. I beg to differ, Maybelline. This colour is not transparent and neither will it come out as a full blown yellow on your lips (if that is what you were hoping for). But it does leave a really light yellow tint on the lips, which over time, starts looking a bit wonky to me. Its smells of lemon (obviously) and the scent remains for a few minutes after you apply it. I could not detect a lemony taste on it which kind of disappointed me.

The average staying power of this lip balm is 3 to 4 hours after which it completely fades way. It is moisturizing as long as it stays on the lips but it doesn’t really leave the lips hydrated and soft once it fades away. But I do love the subtle glossy finish Fierce N Tangy gives to lips once applied which is perfect for no makeup days!

VNA Rating: 4/5

Conclusion: If you are interested in the new range of Baby lips electro pop lip balms, then, I would suggest that you skip this shade. Texture wise this is a winner but the shade is not something everybody will be able to carry off.

  1. Interesting color! I enjoy Baby Lips but agree they don’t provide 8hrs of hydration. I’m a big fan of the cherry red shade, just an easy and pretty everyday color.

    • I kind of hate that its a tint! if it were a full blown yellow or even moderately pigmented, i would love to have something weird in my stash!

  5. Thanks for your article. I also think laptop computers are becoming more and more popular right now, and now are often the only sort of computer utilised in a household. Simply because at the same time that they are becoming more and more cost-effective, their computing power is growing to the point where they are as strong as desktop coming from just a few years ago.
