Mac Daddy’s Little Girl Lipstick from Archie’s Collection Review and Swatches
By contributor: Samannita Modak
Flashback 1997:- a girl in school skipping her lunch to save her pocket money to buy a lipstick…it took two months to save the amount and she bought her first ever lipstick with her own money.
Current year 2013:- a girl bans herself from shopping just to save some money to buy one and only one lipstick from the new Limited Edition collection of MAC (Archie’s girl). And that is none other than “Daddy’s little girl” for which the world is going gaga about it.
How time flies…..but I guess things never change and history repeats itself. I am a lipstick lover. I was not a MAC lover until Mac launched its ARCHIE’S GIRLS COLLECTION. The lipstick that became a must have was “daddy’s little girl”. The cute heart packaging and the color of the lipstick forced me to buy it and give her a home.
Mac launched Archie’s girl collection in two parts. One is Betty’s range and another is Veronica’s .This particular lipstick comes under Veronica’s range along with Boyfriend Stealer and Ronnie Red. In my city, in just an hour of its launch it went OOS. Yes can you imagine? I almost fainted when the MUA told me but when there is a will there is a way and I grabbed my daddy’s little girl from a different city!
Coming to the packaging, it comes in a sturdy white tube with Veronica printed on it. The shade is a cool blue pink with satin finish and creamy texture.
The lipstick glides on easily and stays on for about 5-6 hours. But what annoys me is that it transfers to cups and glasses. Being so expensive I wish it lasted longer but it starts fading after 2-3 hours. Still the color is so lovely that you can easily overlook the negative points.
Now some thumbs up points for this lipstick:-
- The lovely vanilla fragrance.
- The cute packaging.
- As the texture is creamy so it is not drying at all.
- It glides easily on lips.
- And the staying power is awesome as it survives my favorite paratha and chicken tikka!
And now some bad ponts: [yes, every good thing has a bad side too. Nobody is perfect and this is just a lipstick!]
- The lipstick easily transfers to cups and glasses which is a bit annoying for me.
- It tends to fade a little after 2-3 hours. (Don’t get confused about the staying power of this lipstick. It stays as a lip tint for 5-6 hrs but starts fading away in 2-3 hours).
- And it is a limited edition.
So is it for you? If you are looking for a strong fuchsia shade then this is the lipstick for you. The texture is standard Mac quality so just go ahead and make heads turn.
