MAC Amorous Lipstick Review, Swatches and Dupe

I know you all must be  pretty bored of my usual pink and brown shades of lipsticks (like Mehr, Chatterbox,etc) and must be wondering why this girl always buy lipstick shades that are almost same and each time she says “ohh this is my favorite” or “ohh you should grab this one” blah blah! But this time I am here to review and swatch a quite different shade which would work nicely for these winters since winters are all about deep lip shades. It’s “Lovestruck Cranberry” shade..that’s the way MAC describes this lipstick Amorous from the permanent satin range of lipsticks. Its my current lipstick crush with a quite hatke MAC shade.

MAC Amorous looks like a deep plum shade in the tube but on lips it comes off as a nice plumish pink that I think I can carry easily. I recently discovered that I am NC 35 and being fair I always used to avoid such plum shades like Rebel and Diva as I was not confident at all about carrying them but Amorous suits me so well that it took away all my inhibitions. Its quite pigmented and covers pigmented lips easily.

The lipstick is satin in texture. I personally don’t find much difference between the matte and satin range..only satins are little more smooth in texture.

The lipstick being soft in texture never tends to bleed and easily stays more than 5 hours on my lips. And it pretty much survives our traditional Bengali food and as we Bengalis are big foodie, so you can guess how amazing the staying power must be. And after 5 hours it leaves a lovely stain that also stays for next 2 hours approx.

The fragrance of the lipstick is usual vanilla that I just love which also fades after few minutes of application.

The lipstick comes in a usual sleek, black case which is really sturdy and the signature packaging of  MAC permanent range of lipsticks. I know I am the last person in the beauty blogging world who is raving about Amorous, its already been raved about by the likes of Temptalia and Karen. And I’ve jumped into the Amorous Club too!

My Recommendation: MAC Amorous Lipstick is a beautiful deep plummy pink shade. If you love such unusual shades and want to rock the deep berry winter lip then you should try this one. I found MAC captive and MAC craving are pretty dupes of it in MAC. amorous. So if you grab any of the above you can easily skip other two.

    • Yes me too love the satin finishes…but i found both matte and satin are near about same texture… :P
