L’oreal Paris Glam Shine Balmy Gloss 909 Pomegranate Punch

I am very fickle minded I tell you! After the chubby lip crayons from all brands flooded the market and I was literally gagging of overindulgence, I promised myself (or rather my purse) that I would not look back on any other companies coming out with similar things! It held true with lakme pop tints (Rs.800!!) which I passed snidely without even swatching them but when recently l’oreal came out with 400Rs balmy glosses (duhh..chubby crayons!) I could not stop myself from trying out (promise gaya bhaad mein!) I picked up 2 among which I am reviewing the most tinted of the lot- 909 Pomegranate Punch.
L’oreal Claims: L’Oreal Glam Shine Lip Crayon has nourishing flower waxes that nourishes the lips. Contains luminescent polymers that gives a dewy shine. Easy to apply and glides easily on the lips to give color.
The color Pomegranate Punch even though housed in a red colored tube is not really red at all! Its pomegranate dark pink with a hint of cool red instead and gives my lips a flush of gorgeous color which looks just right for a dinner date but can be worn during any time of day as a slight juicy tint as well. It contains very tiny shimmer particles which does not show up on lips but creates an illusion of a full and juicy pout!
The pigmentation of this particular shade is the best among the 4 and though it applies semi sheer and very balmy, a few swipes can build up a sufficiently beautiful color to cover any lip pigmentations!
The texture of this balmy gloss is my absolute favorite of all the other crayons and chubby sticks I have tried! It’s light, smooth, soo glossy and moisturising that it glides like butter on lips and feels like a smooth caring lip balm. Its so soft yet light that you forget you have anything on your lips- no heaviness,non-sticky, no balmy feel..sheer delight.
It has almost no discernible smell but still a very faint waxy smell can be detected sometimes which vanishes in seconds.
As for the lasting power I was totally shocked! The glossy look and feel along with the color stays intact for atleast 1-2 hours after which the gloss does fade but the color? Oh no it stays! It withstands meals and drinks and stays pretty well put for 4-5 hours atleast after which it fades gracefully into a natural looking reddish stain. And it hydrates lips beautifully! No parched feel thank you!

The pros of L’oreal Glam Shine Balmy Gloss Pomegranate Punch:
- Convenient, cute, color coded crayon like the other chuby crayons along with travel friendly packaging
- Extremely hydrating, light, non-sticky and smooth glossy texture which applies like a dream and is a delight to wear!
- Tiny shimmer present to create the illuion of fuller lips along with a sexy pout
- The color Pomegranate Punch is a beautiful dark pink with a hint of red which looks oh so amazing worn as a tint as well
- Hydrates lips amazingly well and lasts on and on throug meals and drinks!
- Does not settle into fine lines and dry patches of lips!
The cons of the lip crayon:
- Poor pigmentation is an issue with the entire range except for this particular shade so ladies looking for something more opaque might not love these balmy glosses.
- Ladies who find shimmer repulsive in any form err..please look the other way
- No SPF (oh l’oreal you were 1 step away from perfection)
I personally have no problem with either one at all! That’s all for today. Till the next time keep smiling and stay gorgeous. muuahhss! (blowing kisses with my new juicy pout!)
VNA Rating: 4.5/5
Do I recommend? L’oreal Paris Glam Shine Balmy Gloss Pomegranate Punch is great. The colour is a soft reddish pink which stays on for hours. Its hydrating, smooth, inexpensive and gives you a sexy pout! I am always cribbing about l’oreal prices and their other flaws. I don’t really like most products they come out with but now I have shoved all my other lip crayons aside (revlon, bourjois, clinique) and raving about a l’oreal balmy gloss well..let’s just say in l’oreal style “because..you are worth it” :P
