Inglot Eye Makeup Base Review and Swatches
By Contributor: Shreya
Have you ever bought a product without any reason, just like that, you know? I have no word to describe why I bought this eye base by Inglot, probably because I watched A LOT of youtube videos and heard over and over “start your eye makeup with a primer”. Well we were not blessed with Sephora and many online sites back then (and I sound like a 100 year old granny, but trust me Indian makeup has been revolutionized more or less in 2 years only!)
So yeah, Inglot had just opened up and I lay my eyes on this eye makeup base, and I knew I just had to buy it, no reasons needed and no excuses justified, and the SA just made me more vulnerable, oh thou money sucking people! Okay! Enough with my stories now let’s get down to the actual review of this product.
Consistency: As you can see, this eye base is in a thick paste form, and kind of melts in Indian summers and solidifies in winters, so I would recommend keeping the tub in fridge if you want it to remain of the same consistency. Although it blends into the skin beautifully and makes an excellent base for eyeshadows to stick to. You need little of this product to work upon your eye, it would last you a lifetime!
Packaging: Inglot eye base comes in a sturdy plastic tub, which looks oh so adorable but is equally messy too! It becomes really tough to take out the product without getting the whole tub dirty, a tube form would have been much better! The tub is then packaged in another hard-paper box, which lists all the ingredients and other informative stuff that you may need to know.
Application: It can be applied easily with fingers as it blends well into the skin.
Shelf life: This product has a shelf life of 9 months, and even if you use it everyday, you won’t be able to finish it,that’s how less you need.
Work: I have swatched the eyeshadows twice, both on skin and then on the primer, you see how gorgeous the eyeshadow looks over the base, and sticks to it. It makes the eyeshadow stay put even in the most hunid weather! Beauties with oily lids, run to the nearest Ingot store now! Eyeshadow doesn’t crease with this base underneath and as I said, it makes the eyeshadow more vibrant *woohoo*
Left: without primer, right: with primer
Pros of Inglot Eye Makeup Base:
- Price is very reasonable
- The product is of high quality
- There is no smell to it,hence even better
- Makes the eyeshadow more vibrant
- Works well on both oily and normal/dry lids
- Eyeshadows doesn’t crease
- Made in Poland (woohoo relief from China for a while!)
Cons of Inglot Eye Makeup Base:
- Packaging is a little (actually a lot) messy
- Shelf life of 9 months is a little less for the quantity
Price: The eye base is priced at an affordable Rs 420, see compare it to MAC and all other pro companies, Inglot still keeps their prices at the lower side (yayyyy!). Read more on it here
VNA Rating: 4.5/5
Recommendation: Inglot Eye Makeup Base is one of the best budget eye makeup primers around. I would highly recommend it, although I wish they better its packaging, otherwise I love this product to bits and I know you would too!
