Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Thrilling Pink
By Contributor: Samannita Modak
I remember once Miley Cyrus mentioned “Pink isn’t just a color, it’s an attitude!” I bet the quote indeed true and instantly comes to my mind whenever I see Colorbar Thrilling pink shade. Am I over reacting on a shade??? “Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid”. This one is by Hedy Lamarr….I know…I know..why am I writing all this! Back to track…I mean the review!
The Velvet Matte range comes in a wide variety of shades, which means everybody can choose her kind of shade as pretty much all the shades are meant for our Indian skin tones. The shade Thrilling Pink is a neautral-n*de kind of shade. Its the kind of pink that may look nude on skintones nc45 and above. In the tube it looks peachy pink. I think the shade looks much beautiful on the case than on my lips as I expected a little darker pink than this. You can see it washes me out a bit but works pretty well with smokey eyes, so I guess I am not throwing it out!
Gone are the days when you see an ad on the television and run to a shop to buy the product…I mean online stores are now a great option for those who are lazy like me. I bought this shade simply by seeing the swatches online and for the name (by now you already have a “vague” idea how much I am addicted to name). Although the shade is named “thrilling” pink but I don’t see anything thrilling about the shade as you can easily find out a dupe in other brands, may be at lesser price than this.
The lipstick is quite pigmented and creamy in texture which makes it glide on smoothly on lips. Staying power is about 4 hours but it transfers a bit. It leaves a nice pink tint but in an uneven manner so reapplication of this lipstick after meals is always a good option specially if you are aiming to finish a lipstick to buy a new one (I use this excuse to buy every new one)
Now to the ooo-la-la part:
- A lot Pigmented. Goes opaque in just one swipe.
- Stays on for 3-4 hours.
- Its creamy in texture and non-drying and glides smoothly on lips.
- Nice packaging, easy to find out in your stash.
- Affordable price.
- Variety of shades are available.
- Easy available in store and in online.
And now the ohhh-nooo part:
- Transfers to cups and glasses.
- Can’t survive meals.
Leaving this two I can’t find out any other con.
Let’s check some pictures and swatches:
VNA Rating: 4/5
Recommendation: Colorbar Thrilling Pink is a n*de pink kind of shade with an amazing texture and creamy formula. If you are nc35 or below then it will work as a neutral pink on you. For those darker than this can pair it up with smokey eyes. A good lipstick to have in your stash.
