Review, Price, How to Use Biotique Bio Fruit Whitening & Depigmentation Face Pack

By Contributor: Monica

How many times has it happened with you guys also that you used something from a particular brand and it did not suit you and you vouched not to use anything from that brand again? Well, it happens with me quite a lot, am quite judgmental you see. Around 7-8 years ago I had tried an eye cream from Biotique and it did not suit me at all and gave me puffy eyes and I boycotted the entire brand. Now when I was given this opportunity to try various Biotique products (thank Anshita for this) I thought okay, let me give this brand a second chance especially when a lot of my blogger friends rave about Biotique products for being chemical free and ayurvedic. I got the Bio Fruit Whitening and Depigmentation Face Pack which I will review today.

Most of the skin care products these days are loaded with chemicals and parabens and though might give cosmetic immediate results but are harmful in long run. Whereas, the Ayurvedic products are quite safe to be used for a long period and do not harm the skin at all. Biotique products mostly have quite rare fruits and plant ingredients which have been since ages known to have beautifying properties. So here we begin the series of Biotique product reviews with this Whitening and Depigmentation Face Pack.

Biotique Claims: This luxurious whitening & de-pigmentation pack is blended with the juices of pineapple, tomato, lemon and papaya fruit to visibly lighten skin for a fairer, flawless look. With regular use, skin reclaims its soft, smooth, youthful tone and texture. Read more HERE

Ingredients: Multani mitti (Fuller’s earth), Geru (Garric), Yasad hhasma (Yasad bhasma), Tamator (Lycopersicum esculentum), Ananas (Ananas comosus), Kikargaund (Acacia Arabica), Paste base Q.S.

Packaging:

The face pack comes packaged in a small plastic container with an additional lid inside to avoid spillage. It is like a basic face pack packaging, nothing fancy to rave about. I generally prefer tubes over tubs as they are more hygienic to use and less messy.

My Reiew:

I am a sucker for readymade face packs and love to try different face packs every now and then. You name a face pack brand and I have used it. To begin with, I have oily to combination skin which is slightly dry these days. I have been using this face pack for last 2 weeks twice a week and till now m quite pleased with it. This face pack claims to lighten and whiten the complexion and reduce pigmentation. I am already quite fair with clear skin and don’t need whitening or depigmentation but yes, I do not mind some brightening since my skin is quite prone to dullness.

The face pack is quite creamy and thin and spreads easily on the face. The color is pink- bubble gum pink. Infact the first time I applied it, my sister was like have you used Boomer bubble gum kya? Lol! But since pink is my favourite color I don’t mind smothering my face with this. It has strong fruity fragrance which I quite like. It is strong but not bothering to the nose and doesn’t stay for long.

Since the texture is thin to medium, it does not take long to dry and dries within 15-20 minutes. The first ingredient herein is multani mitti so I was expecting it to become hard and stretchy upon drying but to my surprise it was quite soft and gave no stretchy feel to the face upon drying (quit unlike Himalaya neem face pack). The face pack washes easily with no extra rubbing required.

Now the result of Bio Fruit Face Pack:

Immediately upon washing, skin feels soft and supple with slight improvement in texture. Even in this time of winters when my skin is on the drier side, I can do without moisturizer after using this. Immediately after washing, no lightening of complexion as claimed and no drastic brightening also, just a fresh and calm feel to the face.

After two weeks of usage, my skin texture has sort of improved, it’s soft and calm but no lightening observed (which I don’t require also). Also, I had a small pimple mark on my left cheek and after 2 weeks, I feel it has reduced by say 50-60% which is quite good. So all in all am happy with this face pack.

Price: Rs.199 for 75 gms

VNA Rating: 4/5

Do I recommend: yes if you are looking for a simple, no fuss, freshen me up kind of a face mask then you can definitely pick this up and no if you expect it to make you 2-3 shades lighter and whiter, which btw no skincare product can do.
