IIFA Awards 2013 were held in Macau just last week. Continuing with the age old tradition, I’m bringing you all the masala, fashion, pastels and disasters! Go through the list and tell me who according to you is best dressed and worst dressed!
Deepika Padukone: wore two Naeem Khan outfits for iifa awards. I don’t know if the black gown is red caret appropriate…she seems possessed by the spirit of my favourite catwoman. Would have fared better at a premiere. Moreover the lip colour is meh….its not fall! The other pink gown with thigh high slit and drop earrings and blood red lipstick looks absolutely gorgeous. But still we have see her best dressed here.
Anushka Sharma: After her retro appearance in 2012, this time she simply looked angelic in a Roberto Cavalli gown. My favourite this year!
Parineeti Chopra: She wore a black Nikhil Thampi gown with a huge belt. Okay I love the greek goddess bun, red lip and the black ring. But isn’t the cuff totally unnecessary? And red shoes look perfect with black dresses but they are somewhat clashing here with all the metallic jewelry. And also the neckline looks uncomfortable on her. The whole look would have looked better with some minor changes here and there. BUT much much better than her boho disaster earlier this year.
Madhuri Dixit: She is giving a tough competition to the younger brigade. The hair, the earrings, the makeup, the blouse, the saree….everything is PERFECT!
She wore this pastel pink and blue Manish Malhotra lehenga for Iifa Rocks. The only thing I’m loving is the colour palette. I love pastels even in my blog fonts!
Jacqueline Fernandez: Trying to do a mermaid in a gold Roberto Cavalli gown. Boring!
Dia Mirza: This is one consistent girl who churns out appearances to wait for every year. This year she wore an embellished Ayesha Depala gown with a net skirt (which is absolutely gorgeous by the way). But I love her more when she gives us something edgy. Like the time Dia turned up with a dramatic fringe and heavily kohled eyes.
Yamini Gautam: Oh I just love this girl. In a sea of black and gold, we get to see some fun colours! Love the gown and fresh makeup.
Shriya Saran: This is one sensual girl! The lime green saree and pink blouse along with a messy braid look amazing on her. Sailor finds her hot! I can’t agree more.
Amrita Rao: wore a metallic Jade Innana gown. I was her fan after Main Hoon Na (even ripped off several off my clothes after watching her….which eventually my mom had to throw away) but what is wrong with her now? The gown is just hanging doing nothing at all!
Vidya Balan: After Cannes, she is back to ground zero.
Neha Dhupia: Cruella de Vil is here! Its not difficult to guess who is behind the long embellished white jacket….Anamika Khanna! What? Have you forgotten Sonam’s disaster last to last month?
The only two times I’ve ever like Sophie Choudry on red carpet is here in this Rocky S gown and in this coral red-pink gown.
Seems like I spoke too soon! Have you run out of gota for craft work? Ask her, she has got plenty!
Huma Qureshi: does it better than Parineeti Chopra!
Sridevi: Looks 100 times better than the trash appearance where I said she should stick to her Kanjivarams. I have to take my words back now! Btw her daughter Jhanvi is soooo cute!
If you want a hit recipe for red carpet, throw in some pastels, add a high thigh high slit and add some bling and you are good.
