Reviews, Swatches, Shades, Dupes, Price, Buy Online Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Creams in 01, 08, 09
I was in two minds whether to invest in the NYX soft matte lip cream or purchase the Colorbar Kiss proof lipstick version. I told my bestie to choose a couple of shades for me as I can’t buy more than that because these are so very expensive. When she realized I was all splurge equipped for the matte formula she suggested me Miss Claire which I heard faintly somewhere or the other. Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Creams are the popular dupes of Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams with even similar packaging. Beauty bloggers rave about them. I will review 3 shades: 01, 08 and 09 and also tell you which Nyx lip cream are they dupes of.
Although I rejected my bestie’s proposal blankly, nevertheless I had to try it out in her house as she possessed a color similar to the one I wanted. To my utter surprise, they were indeed very close dupes and some are exact dupes of NYX. I immediately ran to the store and bought a few for myself. So let us see the three colors I picked up from this range in details.
Miss Claire Claims: It’s not lipstick, nor is it gloss. It’s like nothing you’ve experienced before. It is a lipstick cream that goes on silky but looks soft matte.
Shades Available: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15
My Review of Miss Claire Lip Creams:
Packaging: the soft matte slip creams comes in transparent plastic cylindrical bottle with the black screw cap. The shades are numbered which is written below but you can easily identify the shades from transparent bottle. The doe footed applicator is attached to the cap which is of medium size. It is competent in picking up the cream and spreads the product even on the lips as well. The lipgloss bottle is extremely light weight and easy to carry as well. Overall, I am happy with the packaging.
Shades: 01 is an orange red shade which will suit Indian skin tones the best. Having yellow toned fair skin, it instantly brightens up my face whenever is wear it.
08 is the warm toned pink with fade magenta undertones. Once again, a perfect pink for every day wear and flattering to many complexions.
09 is the everyday MLBB nude shade
and has mix of brown and peach undertones. It is the best neutral shade I have come across for my skin tone (NC 30). It neither washes me out nor looks deep – perfect is the word I would choose.
Pigmentation: the pigmentation of Miss Claire lip creams is very good as I only require two swipes to build the required intensity on my lips to last through the whole day. For further buildable pigmentation, you can wait for it to settle down and add another layer to it. You may also apply lip liner of similar color underneath to make the lip cream long lasting.
Texture: when you apply with the applicator it is more of a light weight lip cream that spreads evenly. It remains like that for about 10-15 mins and then settles down with a matte finish. The matte finish of the lip creams is tremendously comfortable to wear and you won’t feel as if anything is there on the lips at all. Personally, I have dry lips therefore I know how matte lip colors behaves on flakes. Miss Claire is very well behaved on my dry lips although I always make it a point to exfoliate them daily to prevent dead cells and apply a lip balm underneath. Miss Claire cream doesn’t settle on the lines and remains non-transferable throughout the wear time.
Staying power: staying power of miss claire lipstick is very long-lasting of approximately 7-8 hours with light snacks and drinks in between. I generally never require touch-ups with these unless I am going out somewhere special after office hours. It requires slight touch ups if you consume a proper meals or very oily foods when the color starts disappearing from the center of the lips. Overall, an impressive staying power.
