Summer is upon us, and shorter dresses and skirts have replaced the warm, winter closet. To rock those head turning summer outfits, you need to accessorise them well, and not to mention, sport a healthy , glowing, smooth, hair-free skin to maximise the effort. Most of us have different to-go hair removal solutions. I have been using Veet ready to use wax strips
While waxing and epilation might have longer lasting results, some of us do resort to a quick shave or a hair-removal cream to address the same. Though, I would personally prefer solutions that have longer effects like the traditional waxing or the newer epilator; a box of ‘ready to use’ wax strips are my go-to.
Veet Claims: Veet Facial Easy to Use Cold Wax Strips- A convenient and easy way to ensure effective and long-lasting hair removal. The strips are easy to apply, adhere well to the hair, and are removed immediately. The small strips are particularly suitable for face, bikini line, underarms, and touch-ups. The supple and soft fleecy paper backing adapts perfectly to any body contours. Tested under dermatological conditions and accredited by the British Skin Foundation

My Review:
Veet Full Body Waxing kit comes in 3 variants; one for dry skin, one for normal skin and one for sensitive skin. According to Veet, a full body waxing kit with 20 strips (10×2) are enough for one time depilation of full arms, full legs, underarms and bikini line. So by now, you might have guessed that the term “full body” is a misnomer. It’s just an up gradation of the basic version that had 8 strips (4×2) instead of 20.
Veet is not clear upon the statistics this information is based on. Since, the number of strips needed by different women would largely depend upon their height/ more surface area of the skin, density of hair ( ie, weather it is sparse, moderate or dense), type of hair (fine/ thicker), hair growth patterns etc., therefore, what might be more than enough for one woman might be less than sufficient for someone else.
I find it convenient to carry around the product for short trips or an event that might last a few days , places where carrying around an epilator might not be the best option in terms of time/ space/ availability of sockets etc. It is easy to use and is non messy. That makes it ideal and convenient to carry it on short trips
As Veet instructs, it’s best when the skin is oil free (as oil and wax stick) by washing it with soap and water and dried thoroughly (as water repels the wax and will not let it stick to the skin).
How to use the Veet Ready to Use Wax Strips:
I rub the strip a few times in the direction of hair growth to generate some heat after placing it on the skin. It does give good results when the hair is comparatively longer (4-5 mm). The cold wax strips do not work effectively while removing hair that’s very short (1.5-2mm) so I generally have to grow it out a bit before I can use it for an decent results. Though the skin is instantly exfoliated, bright and smooth after an effective session, it does not last up to 4 weeks. For me it’s usually 1.5 to 2 weeks, but then again, it would vary for different women.
I don’t think it’s ideal for underarms or bikini line unless the hair is very fine, as rubbing and pulling at hair that’s not going to come off easily will cause bruises on the skin. Sometimes the bruising can appear after 2 days giving the skin a purplish, blotched appearance.
I can reuse the same wax strips optimally for 5-7 times before it starts losing proper grip. Thereafter, I use the same strip for localised, smaller areas for good results. You don’t have to finish up both the strips of the pair; you can simply fold it carefully on itself and store it for future use.
The 5 perfect finish wipes that come with the “full body” version and not usually not enough so you will have to supplement it with baby oil (as directed).
Though application is very easy and the strips detach from each other leaving uniform wax on each strip (this is an improvement over the previous version), it sometimes leaves difficult wax residues on the skin that does not come off easily with the wipes or with baby oil.
Packaging, Quality and Texture: It comes in a sturdy packaging. The cardboard box is lightweight and can be carried around in your handbag. The strips are non leaky and separate easily from one another. The fragrance is light and refreshing. The wipes are also packed in easily tear-able, convenient little pouches.
Price: Rs.150 for 20 strips (1 full-body kit)
VNA Rating: 3.3/5

Conclusion: Rating is mainly on the ease of use and convenience, and economy. Though it may not be your perfect hair removal solution, it can save the day on many occasions. Easy to carry and use while travelling or on short trips, it leaves the skin smooth, bright and exfoliated. I would purchase the full body waxing kit again if only to use it for my legs and arms.

I have tried it before and I did not like it. I have not tried the latest variant
I'm not a great fan of waxing strips, but they do come handy during emergencies :)
I too have this kit for times of exigencies, beautifully reviewed dear !
I always have these strips available in my house, these are so perfect for emergencies when i can not visit parlor for my waxing sessions :)
I did not have a good experience with this :/
I have tried this in the past and I have always found it to be way too painful! :(
Its painful but its a wonderful thing for emergency usage.
