Review, Swatches, Price, Buy Online Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Care Lip Balm in shade Cherry
By Contributor: Aruna
Continuing the series of reviews that have been coming your way from my side about the Nivea fruity shine lip balms, I have another shade in my stash today, which goes by the name of Cherry. Now, I think I have raved enough about the texture of these balms, though the pigmentation is rather disappointing in some shades, there are definite winners in here. Let’s start with the review and swatches.
Nivea Claims: Discover a delicious cherry scent and fabulous red shimmer. Fruit extracts and shimmering pigments. Moisture store formula. SPF 10.
My Review:
The best part about the texture of nivea lip balms
is that it falls somewhere in between, which means its neither too thick nor too thin and it settles down comfortably on the lips once you put it on. There is a definite slip to it (duh! It’s a lip balm) so have to be a bit careful while applying it as you just can’t go haywire with it. I do expect that people with thin lips will take a little time to get used to the thick bullet of the lip balm.
As far as I have experienced, pigmentation wise, in this range of fruity shine lip care balms, the darker and stronger shades you buy the better pigmentation you will have. The same goes for Nivea Cherry which has a good amount of sheer red undertone to it which gives the lips a beautiful red tint. If you are a beginner who gets nervous around red lipsticks, then balms that give you a sheer red tint like this one will help you take baby steps before you are brave enough to wear a full blown red lip!
The packaging of nivea lip care balm is sturdy enough to get roughed up and one tube contains enough lip balm to last you a year atleast! The cap shuts close with a resounding and firm click so you don’t have to worry about it creating a mess in the handbag. The fruity shine lip balms also come colour coded so each shade has a different colored cap, which is perfect, if you are a pack rat like me!
These lip balms have an average staying power of 3 to 4 hours, which means that you do have to reapply it often. I wouldn’t really say that this product does anything substantial for your lips but it keeps them hydrated as long as its on! Once it fades away, there is no tint to be seen and the lips feel the way they did before application.
Pros of Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm Cherry:
- Pigmentation is good
- Sturdy Packaging
- Texture
- Availability both online and in local stores to buy
- Affordability
- Glossy shine
Cons of Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm Cherry:
- Does nothing substantial for the lips

Conclusion: If you are on the hunt for a sheer but fairly pigmented red lip balm, then ‘Cherry’ and ‘Pomegranate’ from this range are a God sent for you!
