With all this Cannes excitement happening all over the world, I certainly had to review the recently unveiled L’Oreal Paris Cannes 2015 Collection. Believe me, everything in this new collection, is beyond gorgeous, and they’ve released an amazing shade palette to choose from. Just in time, I’d say because I had been looking for an offbeat shade for quite some time. Reds & Pinks have been a little too much of been there, done that lately- don’t you think? So today I will review and swatch L’Oreal Color Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in shade Plum Quartet. It’s this gorgeous plum shade, in fact one very wearable & flattering variant of the plum sphere.
Till date I used to view Plums as a shade which is anything but vibrant & flirty. That was till I set my eyes on this beautiful lip gloss. Anyway other than me, who else has been going crazy over every single outfit that Sonam Kapoor wore at Cannes, 2015? I mean, that woman can certainly do no wrong, at least when it comes to her sartorial choices!

My Review:
This lipquid lipstick is sheer genius. I mean, glossy lipsticks look absolutely breathtaking and everyone wants them, but the problem is that most liquid lipsticks just end up in a gooey mess, if you know what I mean. However, this one by L’Oreal doesn’t! Yes, it doesn’t feel sticky on my lips, and just one swipe gives me stunning colour with an enviable sheen, which doesn’t go away. The wand of this loreal lip gloss is totally amazing as well, because the shape is neither too long, nor too short. The Extraordinaire Lipcolor glides on smoothly, and results in almost a lipstick-like-colour payoff, albeit with this rich, shiny gloss on top of it! Talk about hitting two birds with one bullet.
Plus, I tried blotting it lightly with tissue paper to see how the results turn out- and it still looks fabulous! The colour Plum Quartet remains intact, but the glossiness goes away to some extent. However, my lips do look better than a matte-effect lipstick, almost like between a matte & super-glossy effect.
Texture: L’Oreal Paris claims that this liquid lipstick is enriched with the goodness that only a combination of carefully blended luxurious micro-oils, including lotus flower, argan, camellia seed and rose canina fruit oil can deliver. Well, I have to agree because this makes my lips feel extremely nourished. Like I said, this color riche lip gloss doesn’t have that sticky texture which some liquid lipsticks come with, and instead leaves my lips soft- even when I take it off. So, if you’re worried if this would be as comfortable to wear as it looks in the pictures- then go right ahead, because it definitely does.
Pigmentation: Considering that it’s a liquid lipstick, I wasn’t expecting much pigmentation-wise, but this one does surprise me. L’Oreal Plum Quartet results in a vivid colour right from the first swipe, but you can definitely build it up a little more if you would like to do that.
Longevity: Girls, you can eat & drink to your satisfaction with this lipstick on, & it will definitely stay put. The longevity is excellent, and even when you wipe it off, it leaves my lips well moisturized & nourished, almost like using a really good lip balm.
Packaging: Oh, the packaging has to be my favourite part about this product. Well, not that it disappoints otherwise on any other front- but the sleek, gold bullet, and the shade Plum Quartet showing part look amazing. No more remembering names, or twisting open the bullets to check if you picked up the right one from the makeup-box. Just look at the front section, and you’d know the colour inside. Now if only everyone started following this, my life would almost be perfect!
