Review, Price, Buy Online Parachute Advanced Summer Refresh Body Lotion Spray
By Contributor: Brototi
Winters are almost over, and though we relish the warm sun during the spring, we need to keep our sunscreens handy. To be quite frank, I find sunscreens to be a hassle. I have tried a whole lot of them, and all of them are too sticky for me. This summer refresh body lotion spray from Parachute, on the other hand, was quite a surprise. Read on my review to know my take on this new Parachute lotion.

My Review:
PACKAGING: Let’s look at the packaging before I tackle the claims made by the product. The Body Lotion Spray comes in a cylindrical bottle, which is minty green in colour, and does give a refreshing look, which goes with the “summer refresh” theme. The best part of the bottle for me is the spray pump, which makes application so much easier. The pump is covered by a tight transparent cap, and doesn’t leak. It is very, very travel friendly.
Now, coming back to the claims made by this product.
Instant Freshness– There is no way anyone can dispute this. The minty cool along with the soft coconut-y smell gives you instant freshness, and keeps your skin smelling sweet and feeling cool.
Non-Sticky and Light– This is the non-stickiest body lotion with sunscreen that I have come across. The spray is very light, and instantly gets absorbed by the skin, leaving it silky smooth with no traces of stickiness.
Soft and Smooth Skin– Though after initial application, the skin turns soft, dry skin might turn a little rough after a little while. The thin texture of the spray does not allow dry skin to retain moisture for very long, and so you need to apply it more frequently than people with normal or oily skin.
Double Sunscreen (UVA and UVB)- There is where the product loses a bit of its credibility, as it does not mention the SPF. And in a tropical country like India, with the full wrath of the sun on us during the summer months, it becomes extremely essential to know how strong the sunscreen is. The Summer Refresh Body Lotion Spray is unable to provide any answers here.
Quick Absorbing- I think we are getting a little repetitive here. But thin texture calls for quick absorption. You do you get sticky globs of product. In fact, it’s so light that it slides down your skin if you don’t apply it after spraying it on.
100% Natural Moisturizers (contains moisturizers from natural sources)- Since the label clarifies what it means by 100% natural moisturizers, I don’t have any issues with it. That being said, the ingredients mentioned are not natural ones. It just contains coconut milk and menthol as natural ingredients, with about a dozen chemicals.
The application is pretty simple and illustrated on the bottle too. You need to rub it softly after spraying by holding it 2-3 inches away from the body. And I cannot stop gushing over the spray pump which allows you to apply it anywhere, anytime.
You get the 100ml bottle for 120 (during the launch it was for 99) and the product has an expiry date of after 2 years.
All in all, I would consider this a good buy, if you can find a way around the SPF problem. What I did last summer was use a normal sunscreen before leaving home in the morning, and use this spray after 3-4 hours, especially if I was sweating too much, and needed to cool my skin and feel fresh.
Pros of the Parachute Summer Refresh Body Lotion Spray:
- Super light and non-sticky
- Instantly absorbs
- Minty freshness and a sweet summer smell
- Easy on the pocket
- Study and travel friendly bottle
- Easy to apply
Cons of the Parachute Summer Refresh Body Lotion Spray:
- SPF not mentioned
- Dry skin required over application
Price: Rs.120 for 100ml
Value for money: 5/5
VNA Rating: 4/5
Concluding Remarks: Though I would not recommend this product to be your only source of sun protection during the coming months, I would definitely recommend it to be a complementary product to keep you feeling cool and fresh. You could apply it in the washroom, at the elevators, or even while waiting in a queue under the hot sun somewhere. The packaging is easy and efficient. And at the price at which it is marketed, it really doesn’t pinch your pocket.
