Review and Price of Livon Moroccan Silk Serum
By Contributor: Tanvi
I am sure by now you all must have noticed the tv advertisement of the newly launched Moroccan Silk Serum by Livon. I got tempted by the tvc and got it to try. The smaller size was not available then so I got the bigger bottle to use. I used to be a big fan of the Livon Silky potion in my school days until I got addicted to international brands. The moroccan element in it tempted me. I have been trying to get my hair on original moroccan oil but its so expensive! Until then I will make do w ith livon argan serum which I will review today.
Livon Claims: New Livon Moroccan Silk Serum has a special blend of conditioning agents that coat every strand of hair making it easy to comb through. This results in effortless detangling of hair and prevents its breakage so that you get the beauty of smooth, silky, free flowing hair.
Benefits of Moroccan Argan Oil:
- Softens thick unmanageable hair
- Restores shine and softness to dull, lifeless hair
- Strengthens brittle hair
- Heals and nourishes hair damaged by coloring and styling
- Protects against UV damage and other environmental factors
My Review:
I am so happy that Livon came out with a new serum. I used to be a fan of their silky potion which was launched years back in that reddish maroon tiny bottle. This time the packaging got a bit fancier with sleek pink bottle and a pump. The pump is very useful to control the quantity per use. I have long hair and I use 2 full pumps on my semi dry hair. On dry hair you might need half a pump more. The quantity is good enough to last you a few months if used regularly.
The ingredients list of Livon silk serum boasts of a lot of good things. Its supposed to have argan oil which the world raves about. But I don’t think the argan oil would come so cheap so maybe only a fraction of it is actually argan. It also claims to have UV filters which protects your hair against sun damage. I can’t test that but only believe them on this and I’m a happy bunny.
It works well in taming away the fly aways and frizz. Also helps in detangling my hair after washing. I don’t skip my conditioner though. My hair is not too dry nut dry at the ends with slight frizz. If you have wavy to slightly curly hair then this moroccan oil might interest you. But if you have very curly hair which become a frizz ball after every hair wash then you would need something heavy duty. I don’t recommend it with styling products either as its too light to protect against the heat. I am happy we have a serum in the lower price category that can be used for everyday use. School and college girls would love it.
Anshita made a video on it while applying livon moroccan serum on her hair on instagram. Check it out here.
Pros of Livon Moroccan Silk Serum:
- Non sticky and light texture which works for everyday use as it doesn’t make my hair look oily or greasy
- Detangles my semi dry frizzy hair quite well
- Look at the price, its perfect
- Supposed to have all those good things like argan oil and sunscreen for hair
Cons of Livon Moroccan Silk Serum:
- Doesn’t add a healthy shine to hair. You won’t even see any change in the overall look of the hair
- The texture is runny and not thick enough to work on very dry and frizzy hair.
Price: Rs.258
VNA Rating: 3.5/5
So is it for you? Livon serum is a good light weight daily use serum which won’t lead to a lot of build up in your hair and work on wavy to curly hair with slight frizz. If you have very frizzy mane then you should invest in a high quality serum.
