Review, Swatches and Price of Arabian Nights Makeup Palette by Sleek Makeup
By Contributor: Aruna
Sleek has always had a sterling reputation when it comes to their eyeshadows. I have always regretted not having any of their beautiful palettes in my kit, so when I spotted the beautiful Arabian nights Sleek eyeshadow palette online which I will review and swatch, I immediately lapped it up! Oh, and did I forget to mention how affordable these palettes are? Makes the deal instantly sweeter.
My Review:
The packaging of this palette comes in a standard slim black palette which is sturdy enough to withstand a fall or travel. The sponge ended applicator inside, however, is useless. There is a large mirror provided inside which is extremely useful. The only complain that I have is that the names of the shades are not printed on the back of the palette but given on a sheet of plastic which gets annoying after a while. The staying power on of all the shades are excellent. They lasted about 7 hours on my lid before slowly fading away ( I don’t have oily lids and applied them without a primer).
So, the palette that I got has a total of 12 shades in it and they range from subtle to dramatic. Now, when I say ‘subtle’, I don’t mean that they lack in pigment (all of the shades pack a serious punch in that department!), it means that these shades are more wearable for regular days. This palette , however, is more for those girls who want to create rich, dramatic looks with the bold greens and vibrant blues in this palette. All of the shades are a dream to work with as they are soft, pigmented and easy to blend on the eyelid. There is a minimal amount of fallout with some of the frosty and glittery shades which can easily be wiped off.
Let’s take a look at all the colours individually:
Scheherazade’s Tale: A beautiful soft pink which make such a gorgeous highlight shade! Soft and pigmented.
Gold Souk: This one is a pure yellow gold. It has a frosty finish and I did experience some fallout but it is also soft and pigmented.
Aladdin’s Lamp: A beautiful taupe brown with subtle hints of green. Buttery smooth and pigmented.
Sultan’s Garden: Forest green with rich green glitter laced through it. Soft and pigmented.
Hocus Pocus: This colour is quite similar to Sultan’s Garden, the only difference being that this is a deeper shade of green. Soft, pigmented and dramatic.
Simbad’s Seas: I could write a whole paragraph on this one! A rich dark, deep blue which is soft, pigmented, buttery with zero fallout! :sigh:
Genie: This is one of those shades that one instantly falls in love with. Dark deep bronze with subtle shimmer, perfect for a smokey eye! Ultra pigmented with zero fallout.
Black Magic: Another perfect blue eyeshadow! It is deeper than Simbad’s Seas and has a little bit of light blue shimmer in it. Soft , pigmented and smooth.
Stallion: This shade is complete winner for brown eyes as it is a perfect aubergine. Completely matte and pigmented but not as smooth as the other ones.
Sorcerer: This one is another one of the blue shades but it is much more wearable. Not overly bright but at the same time it has a subtle blue tint to it. Dark, smooth and blendable.
Valley of diamond: This one is a purple with gold glitter in it but not much of that glitter comes onto the lid. Smooth, pigmented and prone to some fallout.
1001 Nights: Ultra smooth, ultra creamy and extremely pigmented black. No fallout and feels like a cream eyeshadow on touch.
