Review and Price of Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liner Deep Sea
I don’t like, I obsess. I don’t obsess, I get addicted. Whether its Blueberry frozen yogurt or Two and a Half Men. I literally get addicted. Thats what I expected from the new Gel Addict Eye Liners from Lakme Absolute as part of the Bridal Dream Team which I will review and swatch today. These come in a lot of shades and promised me a now obsession as I was bored of my Maybelline Drama Gel Liner. I picked it up in the shade Deep Blue which is the most beautiful blue I have seen in a long time. BUT! There is a twist to the whole story. Read on to find what exactly I am so bummed about.

My Review:
These Lakme Gel Liners look like the Revlon Colorstay in terms of packaging. A small eye brush is attached on the cap so you never misplace it. Me likey! Although I have to admit, I was surprised to see such a tiny pot. I was expecting something similar to the Maybelline gel liner in terms of size but this is soooooo tiny! Its not a bad thing, I find it more cute. But yep, the quantity definitely hurts.
Lakme Deep Sea is a bright electric blue which instantly perks up your mood. I got this Gel Addict Liner just for the colour as soon as I swatches of it online. Its really hard to come across a shade like this in drugstore brands specially in India. You mostly get black blues or metallic blues but this is electric!
Well the good things stop here. Because this absolutely sucks in terms of pigmentation and texture. You have to keep applying it to get some decent colour on your eyes. Its okay on lips but eyes are delicate and you need eyeliners which give you an opaque finish in a jiffy. The more I apply, the more uneven it looks. I cannot get a decent even line on my upper lid with this gel liner!
The texture is not gel, its more mousse like. But that makes things difficult as its too soft and creamy to work with. It mostly diffuses or looks patchy. Having used Maybelline Gel Liner in the past, I was expecting something similar but its nowhere close. Even the Oriflame gel liner I hated is better than the Lakme Gel Addict. I am now planning to use it as an eyeshadow base with my blue shadows but I am afraid it will crease since its very creamy. But once it dries it sets too a powdery matte finish so I am hoping it will work decently and I didn’t waste my money completely.
Swatches in natural light: left – one swipe, right – multiple swipes

Cons of Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Eyeliner Deep Sea:
Poor pigmentation. You need atleast 2-3 swipes to make it opaque
The texture is too soft to work with. It mostly diffuses or shows up unevenly on the eyes
The brush it comes with is too wide to make thin lines
