Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream Review, Price, Benefits and How to Use on Acne

By Contributor: Chirali

Hello Earthlings. Or I suppose a better phrase would be makeup-lings, you know, because any one reading VNA is interested in beauty, fashion and other such things…ok, this is getting a bit weird. Sorry, let me start over. Hello everyone, This is my first review on this blog as you can see from my dismal attempt to be funny at the beginning. In this review I will be talking about this face and hand cream called Vicco Turmeric WSO Skin Cream. Now, before some of you wrinkle up your pretty little nose at this local brand, just hear me out.

A newbie at all things makeup and fashion and beauty, even still, I find all this, a work of art. Only it’s your body that is the canvas and the makeup and brushes used to paint and create amazing works of art. But unlike the regular canvas, we all have to take care of ‘our’ canvas, aka our skin or otherwise the constant use of different products on it can cause it to break out in pimples, acne, black heads etc which not only looks unattractive, it is also your skin telling you that its unhealthy and to take better care of it. Like for example, I’ve seen on some people that if they are suffering from any type of stomach problems, their skin breaks out in pimple and acne. Whereas for some, including me, when I get dehydrated my cheeks get really dry and flaky.

By now you must be wondering, this is not WebMD!! So why am I talking about all these health/ skin related problems? The reason why I took on this topic as my first was because this is something I have experience in. Unlike most beauty related topics, I feel that I can give a sound and useful judgment on why you should almost always go for products that are more herbal and made with traditional ingredients.

Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream reviews

My Review:

I have been using Vicco Turmeric for about 6-7 years now. I did take a break from it once, and am regretting it. When I started college, I stopped using Vicco Turmeric, I’m not sure why, but I did, instead I started this new cream called the Olay Natural Wh ite All in One Fairness(both night and day one) and well, in the beginning it was all going great. My skin never felt better, but in the last one year this cream gave me so many problems… no matter what I did, how little or more I put on it never did what I wanted it to do. Either I my T-zone got too oily or my cheeks started to crack up. And in the winters, this cream was a nightmare. My skin was a mess, flaky and dry skin all over, no matter how much or how many times I applied it. So, eventually I was fed up of this cream and maybe it was not the fault in the cream, but over a period of time, my skin itself became immune to it or something but, whatever it was doing right before, it was not working any longer. So, one day while searching for a new cream I recalled Vicco Turmeric and instantly I knew that I had to get it and start working on the damage that that Olay cream had done to my skin.

My mom is a big fan of the grandma’s nuske as we all call it, and believes whole-heartedly in all things ayurvedic and herbal. She is not against chemical products and understands their importance, but she very strongly feels that though the chemical based products might be effective quicker, their results don’t last long and the constant use of such high chemicals on the skin day after day can take a toll on your skin, causing it long term harm. Initially I did not believe her, but after going through the effects of using such chemical based face cream I too am a strong adviser of more natural and herbal based products.

Now on to the actual cream, so my mom only used to buy this cream and would make us apply it all the time, she used to encourage us to use Vicco Turmeric instead of the more expensive and branded face creams. And I do have to say, that except of the mandatory time every teenager goes through where your whole face is covered with acne and pimples, I was pretty fortunate to have avoided anymore after that and was blessed with clear skin. I know this because a lot of my friends commented on this fact. (Feeling proud!)

Now the ingredients used in the cream are very basic like extract of turmeric and sandalwood oil is almost 16%. and it’s said in the description that this cream can also be used on cuts, burns and bruises etc. So, multi- purpose added as well.

Another great thing about Vicco Turmeric is that it’s in a very non greasy formula, so cheers for all the oily faced people out there (me included). It’s a great product to use in the summers when almost everybody’s skin is oily and sweaty; it’s very effective in keeping your skin free of excessive oils and moisture.

But when there are pros, there are cons too. I do have to say, that it can be a bit too drying in the winter seasons. Like I mentioned many times in the lines above, I have oily skin, but I also have, in winters specifically, very dry cheeks. That means that although my forehead and nose stay oily, my cheeks dry out very fast and get flaky. So basically I have combination skin, but I still prefer to go for skin care products that are more targeted towards combating oily skin problems.

So, yeah that is a negative point for it, but what I usually do is that I apply Vicco Turmeric first, let it sit for about 10-15 minutes and then apply, only on my cheeks, a moisturizing cream that is for dry skin mainly the Vaseline or Nivea creams. Those babies make my cheeks all soft and supple.

Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream review ingredients

The Benefits of Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream:

  • It’s completely natural, made with ingredients with ayurvedic properties.
  • Its affordable, no shelling out the big bucks. Very and I mean very easily available. You can find it at any chemist or beauty store around you.
  • The smell is amazing. Very appealing. And will not disturb any sensitive noses out there.
  • Its an Indian brand( you are promoting Indian trade and not increasing the bank balance of outsider brands)
  • No harmful effects, not including any allergies, anyone can have them. But other than that, no side effects.

The Side Effects of Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream:

  • People with dry skin might not like it, due to its non greasy formula, but still, if you want to give it a try go ahead. There won’t be any damage.
  • Winters can be a problem with this one, as it can be a bit drying, but that might just be a personal issue and might not occur with everyone else. Also, you can apply this and then put on some regular body lotion or moisturizing cream if you want to.
  • The results will take their time. Being almost 100% natural and ayurvedic product this cream will not show instant result. It’s going to take some months for any results of this cream to show, but rest assured it will and well as they, slow and steady wins the race.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients used.

Will I be Buying it Again? Absolutely

Do I Recommend? Yes, absolutely. Oily or combinations skin people will love this, as it gives that amazing matte finish that you all love and leaves the skin feeling light and fresh. The smell is although a bit strong, but none the less, its natural and will remind you of the sandalwood trees the main ingredient in this cream. Dry skin and people with sensitive noses might find it to be a problem, but I believe that if you can go a little extra mile and apply a small amount of normal moisturizer then it should not be a problem.

The only reason I would recommend that everyone should give it a try at least once is only because it is fully natural and unless you are allergic to any of the ingredients used, then it can do your skin no harm.
