Seeing Deepika Padukone promoting this new Fair Miracle Fairness Cream by Garnier claiming to be 2 in 1 I wanted to give it a try not that I promote the fairness or lightening claims. I am more than happy with my skin tone but then who doesn’t love a bit of brightness on their face. And moreover the whole talc and cream thing was quite interesting about it, without much ado let’s jump into the review.
Garnier Claims: Garnier’s 1st fairness cream which keeps your skin fair and clean up to 12 hours. Touch, Feel and See the difference. Touch: Velvety soft and smooth skin on touch. Feel: Skin feels fresh, moisturized and clean. See: See instantly fair and glowing skin. The formula contains: – Vitamin B3 and Perlite (Natural Mineral) – UV filters known to protect from skin darkening – Talcum Powder well known for absorption properties.
My Review:
It comes in a pink and white squeezy tube with screw open cap, the nozzle dispenses adequate amount each time. The packaging looks cute and is great for travelling too. The white colored cream is of slightly thick consistency, one can feel the tiny talc like particles in it but feels smooth and spreads easily. It has prominent floral fragrance to it which lingers around for a few minutes.
After applying it almost immediately sets to a matte powder like finish hence blending has to be very quick with it. There is no need of a compact powder on top of this fairness cream as it alone is quite mattifying. Once blended it vanishes into skin completely without leaving behind any greasy feel and gets absorbed quickly. This product will be great for summers and oily skin because of the matte finish it leaves behind. Having said that it is not at all moisturizing or hydrating and hence is not an ideal product for the coming winters and dry skin. For dry skin using a moisturizer beneath is essential for smooth blending.
When applied in right quantity the Garnier Fair Miracle cream disappears into skin giving a bright and clean look instantly, this product will be perfect for those days when skin is looking dull due to its brightening properties. It can leave behind a slight white cast is excess is applied, and I feel the white cast will be more prominent on dusky skin tones but it settles down soon. It has pretty good staying power of about 7-8 hours on my combination skin and surprisingly it kept my face matte for almost the entire time which is amazing, although I won’t agree with its claims of 12 hours.
As far as the fairness claims goes I have not tried similar products so I can’t compare it to any but the glow and brightness is temporary and last only while you apply it. Thankfully it hasn’t caused any form of breakouts or irritation on my skin and hence I guess will be suitable for most skin types.

VNA Rating: 3.75/5
Do I recommend? Even though I am not much into the fairness creams I do like the brightness and matte look it gives to my skin, it a great product for oily and even acne prone skin as it contains salicylic acid, dry skin can also use it over well moisturized skin. It is definitely worth a try especially for summers.
