Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week Spring Summer 2015 Day 1 Review
Are you ready for yet another mad and fashion filled season at Wills India Fashion Week? Going by the enthusiasm I see on my Instagram and Twitter I guess you are! All day I posted sneak peeks from the venue so now here is the full account. Like every year, Wills Fashion Week is hosted at Pragati Maidan (which the near by autowallahs and cabbies call Faaison maidan!) Let me show you the fashion week through my eyes and quickly take you through all the shows today and what all I attended. This year I’m attending the Fashion Week as a guest of Popxo and Wills Lifestyle. I am also part of the Popxo Blog Network which you must know by now.
That’s the view that welcomes you as soon as you enter the premises at Pragati Maidan Gate. No.8. Its the Wills Private Lounge you see in the picture
The opening show by Aneeth Arora starts at 3 15pm and that’s the crowd you see at just 2 30pm! Expert tip: go early and line outside if you want good media seats. Everyone becomes a ninja as soon as the doors open!
Once I got inside, chirping birds, potted plants, sunflower seeds and forest decor welcomed me. It was so refreshing..so new. Perfect way to kickstart the Wills Fashion Week this season. I love Pero!
Next show by Hemant and Nandita taught us that sometimes runway outfits CAN be worn on streets. The sheer wearability and beauty took my heart away. And how cool are those hats. So fun. So summery.
Not so Serious by Pallavi Mohan‘s collection revolved around pastels and more pastels. Totally digging that crop top people.
Since I couldn’t get enough I quickly gave her stall a quick peek to see what else she has got in store and yep..pastels!
Okay so time to give yourself a break! You would know if you have to run around wearing 4inch pumps around all day. No flats just don’t cut it. We aren’t going to the mall, are we? Quickly grab a bite and then run run!
Alpana and Neeraj told us if you like it, then you should put a bow on it! So love the colour blocking and deep navy hues.
And its Atsu time! I was so looking forward to see their collection myself. Don’t know what I love more – the summery orchid shades or detailing on the garments. Don’t miss the beautiful red piece that stood out among pastels.
And ofcourse I HAD to visit their stall and see more of it. Spotted these fresh and detailed Atsu lehengas.
Ohh is it 6pm already? Time for the Masaba meet! ITC and Fiama Di Wills launched a new luxurious version of their shower gels called Shower Jewels! It seemed like the whole crowd at the fashion week was packed inside the Wills lounge. I posted a picture of Masaba and me on my Instagram so don’t forget to check yjat. Half of the content for this post is on my Instagram already.
Okay so the moment is here. I skipped tea just to get a nice private time at the Gauri and Nainika booth. Let’s go inside.
AND..I am lost for words. Pinch me.
The wait is over! I attended the opening show by Tarun Tahiliani in the last season and took you with me. And I still can’t figure out what goes on inside this man’s brain! It was a colour riot. I thought I loved summery pastels but noooooo I equally love bright funky colours and prints. He collaborated with the Singh Twins this season and the collection looks nothing short of a mad collage of colours. From sunset to pinks, you can spot every hue in it.
And with some relaxing live music we wrap up Day 1 of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. Perfect start to the fashion filled week. Although my feet are hurting and neck hurting as I write this post and I still have to figure out my outfit for Day 2 but I can’t wait to go back again and experience the madness.
PS – I just launched my fashion blog yesterday called Petite Peeve. Its a lifestyle blog which I will update atleast twice a week. So make sure you follow me there too. And thank you for the awesome feedback!
