Philips KeraShine Glam Styler Review
What is that one thing I absolutely hate in the mornings? Actually two. Thick and wiggly liquid eye liner brushes and managing a brush, blow drier and straightner/curler with just 2 hands and 10mins at hand. I swear sometimes the brush falls out of my hands and the other times I blast the drier on my face. No kidding. I’m that clumsy. That’s probably why you see me with unstyled hair most of the time while I pretend its my straight-out-of-bed look. In reality its just a lazy-can’t-do-with-stylers look. So what does a girl like me do? Look for multi tasking products that don’t expect you to have 10 hands. Its the HP8632 Kerashine Glam Styler by Philips I’m gushing about which I will review today. And later show you the results with some before after pics.
Philips Claims: Philips KeraShine styler allows you easily create soft waves while caring for your hair. Heated 45mm barrel with Keratin coating secures long lasting results, and retractable bristles guarantee safe application.
Features:
- 45mm barrel, Ceramic coating with Keratin infusion.
- Swivel Cord of 1.8m.
- Heats up to 190° C.
The Philips hair styler looks like a basic round comb brush. But with a switch! So the basic mechanism is that you can retract the bristles by turning the nob on the top. So that way your hair don’t get stuck while doing the curls. This is how you use it:
- Switch on the Glam Styler. I mostly use the medium power.
- Curl a section of your hair around the brush and wait for a few seconds
- Twist the nob at the top and the bristles go inside the brush with your hair falling down in beautiful curls
But its the blow dry feature in it that I love the most. I just brush my hair outwards and hold the ends for about 60secs to get those sharp laser cut ends like you get in salons. I always wanted them at home! When in a hurry I just style the top layers of my hair to get that beautiful volume. My curls take a little longer like always because of my super straight hair which are honestly difficult to style. I know curly hair girls be like “look at that b*tch! She doesn’t know the pains of a curly mane” I get you! And I’m not being a straight hair princess. The grass is always greener on the other side. Straight hair can be quite boring at times because the texture won’t just let you style it.
I remember I was 10 and super excited for a cousin’s marriage. I went to this salon looking pretty in my emerald green velvet dress and asked the lady to curl my waist length hair. She spent half an hour on it and finally just braided the front section and threw in a few hair pins. I swear I wanted to kill her. It was like that through out my teens. The curls take a little longer on thinner hair and require the second heat setting (with double waves) but damn those waves. They come out instantly and take around 15mins for all of my hair to style.
Here are some before after pictures for you to see the results. I just quickly tousled my bangs with the Glam Styler. Just hold the brush inwards for about a minute with medium heat setting and you get this razor sharp look. The left side bangs in the picture are untouched while the right side has been styled for the review. For clumsy girls like me, this Philips product is a boon.
What I like about Philips KeraShine Glam Styler:
- Works like a curler and blow drier rolled into one
- Gives bouncy loose waves and curls
- Very easy and convenient to use
- Hair doesn’t get stuck like like it does in ordinary round combs
- I even manage to get the voluminous just blow dried tousled hair with this
What I don’t like about Philips KeraShine Glam Styler:
- Actually its not something I don’t like because I love big loose curls. But those looking for tighter curls won’t get them with this
Price: Rs 2595 (available online at discounts)
VNA Rating: 4.5/5
So is it for you? Philips KeraShine Glam Styler HP 8632 is everyone who likes multitasking hair styler and quicker results. This one works like a brush, curling iron and blow drier all in one. You can get soft bouncy curls or tousled hair easily. I love the bristle retract mechanism because it saves me the trouble of detangling my hair. Quite a handy hair styler to have in your stash. Must try out.
OMG! TWD is back with another season! Somehow my mondays are not blue anymore. I had lost interest in the series with some back to back thande episodes but the come back episode was a bomb. Go Carol! Who else thinks I’m not weird? Because Sailor hates it when I obsess over gore tv shows.
