These Show Off lip lacquers by Rimmel have been doing the rounds in various beauty blogs both in India and internationally. I have already reviewed two colours Stellar and Apocaliptic some time back. There are 13 total shades available in this lip gloss range. I bought another one AURORA 3 weeks ago and sharing my review and swatches on it. Also Apocalips Nova has been reviewed before on VNA.
Rimmel Claims: The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine. The earth-shattering lip lacquer from Rimmel London!
My Review:
Apocalips is a unique lip lacquer, so it has the pigmentation of a lipstick and shine of a gloss with no stickiness. Although the glossy finish disappears after sometime and leaves behind a lip stain. Aurora is a pretty pink with coral undertones
. It is a pretty shade that suits all Indian skin tones. The lip gloss is quite pigmented which I totally adore. I am into corals these days as they are perfect for spring summers. It is very light weight and you can’t even feel you have put something on your lips. Makes your lips look fuller and hot.
Packaging: The packaging of Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer is very elegant and stylish. The upper part of plastic tube is all black while the lower part identifies the colour. The cap fits nice and tight, so you need not worry while travelling.
Applicator: It comes with a doe-foot applicator to make it easier to apply. The doe-foot applicator has a unique design with a tiny hole in the middle which catches the right amount of the lip gloss.
Texture: Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer Aurora is creamy in texture and gives nice glossy finish but not uncomfortable at all and does not dry out your lips. It glides effortlessly, doesn’t feel sticky and my hair never get stuck in it. The formula is very moisturizing but gives a semi matte finish in the end. It is easily transferable on to everything. The fragrance is fruity but not bothering. The consistency of the lip lacquers is amazing.
Rimmel Apocalips is soft and non-drying. It does not settle into the fine lines. It can use as a lip stain if you don’t like the full intense colour. It is non-sticky and very light weight. One swipe builds up the perfect colour.
Swatches in natural light
Staying Power: Rimmel Apocalips Aurora lasts quite long and stays put for 3-4 hours even after a heavy meal leaving a pretty tint. Staying power is quite impressive when compared to a normal lip-gloss.
Price: Rs.475
VNA Rating: 4.75/5
Final verdict: Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer Aurora is adorable. I have been using it regularly as the coral pink shade is perfect for summer. It transfers a lot which is its only con. The pigmentation is awesome and a single swipe covers up lip pigmentation.
