MAC Mocha Powder Blush Review
By Contributor: Nausheen
Years back, when I was in college and somebody asked me to apply blush on my cheeks- I was like Oh no, I don’t wanna look OTT or a drama queen. Stupid me I was so unaware of this magical product called Blush. If there’s one product in our vanity bag that can freshen our look and bring a glowing brightness to our face, it is blush. Blush is a makeup essential in my vanity and I now a day I toh simply don’t consider my makeup complete without a lovely dash of colour on my cheeks. Most of us use pink blush every day and I also am no exception. Today I will review Mac Mocha Blush which is my go-to everyday blush. It beautifully adds just a perfect flush of colour to my cheeks which gives a rosy hue to my skin. So girls read on to know my take on this blush.
MAC Claims: Colour for the cheeks and face. Various formulas different looks.
Directions for use: Take a blush brush swirl it over your blush pan and pat it off to remove the excess product. Starting from the apples of cheeks sweep it upward on your cheekbone and tada you have the most natural rosy flush of colour on your cheeks.
Colour: MAC describe the shade as a soft plum pink. I find it a very pretty earthy dirty pink shade which beautifully compliments Indian skin tones.
Texture: Finely milled Powder which is easily blendable
In mirror of my own experience:
Mac powder blushes come in a sleek and classy black packaging with a transparent lid with neither a brush nor a mirror inside. The transparent lid fits properly with a click sound which makes the packaging a travel friendly one.
As I have already mentioned, Mac Mocha blush is an earthy pink shade which will suit a lot of people having wheatish to dusky skin tone. The blush feels smooth and goes on Matte post application without a single speck of shimmer. The finely milled powder is very smooth and not at all chalky which makes the blending part a cake-walk, to put it simple this blush is really easy to apply and easier to blend.
The coverage of this beauty is buildable i.e. we can either apply it as a sheer layer for a natural look or layer it on for more dramatic one. Another thing is its fabulous staying power. Without primer it stays for about 4-5 hrs easily on my combination skin and with primer it stays put up to 6-7 hours easily. It fades away evenly and never looks patchy or streaky.
The Good about Mac Mocha Blush:
- Gorgeous shade.
- Amazing staying power.
- Looks very natural since it imparts natural glow to the face.
- Easy to work with, blends like a dream.
- 6 gms of product lasts long.
- Matte lover will love this.
- Buildable, can be layered upon for getting required colour.
The bad about Mac Mocha Blush:
- Although the packaging is travel friendly, it is without mirror and brush.
- Pricey.
- Mac blushes are not easily available.
