Lakme Absolute Color Illusion Nail Paint in Fantasy Review
Why Fantasy you may ask? Because the champagne pink shade reminds me of Elsa (Frozen) and The White Witch (Narnia). The shade is so cool toned that I instantly feel like a snow queen when I wear it. Yes that’s the shade Fantasy from the new LE LFW 14 Color Illusion Collection by Rajesh Pratap. I love it when Lakme comes up with new collections bi-annually and this one has a metallic pearly theme. Let’s go ahead with the reviews and swatches and see how it fares.
Lakme Fantasy is a cool toned metallic pink which looks icy pink on my tanned hands. It has this pretty pearly glow which catches light and plays with it. The colour has a tendency to look different under different lights and that I guess is how it justifies its name – Illusion.
If you love cool metallic pinks then you are going to love it although I have to say it doesn’t do much for my dark hands. It would look much prettier on lighter skin tones.
The formula is like the Fast and Fabulous range..the packaging is kept similar too. The brush is wide enough to cover your nails in a single stroke. It dries pretty quickly and stays for approx 4-5 days without any chipping which I think is really great. You need to wait between coats for the nail polish to dry completely to get an even and opaque finish. I’ve worn 3 coats in the photos which it requires to go opaque.
There is infact one more reason for it to be called an Illusion nail polish. Although it applies smoothly but the metallic shimmer and light give an illusion of a textured polish. At first I thought its the finish that’s gritty but when I touch my nails they are all smooth. So yep one more illusion right there!
Pros of Lakme Absolute Color Illusion Nail Polish:
Thick formula
Dries quickly
Plays with light
Gives the illusion of 3D nails
Lasts for 5 days without chipping
Cons of Lakme Absolute Color Illusion Nail Polish:
Needs 2-3 coats to go apaque
Price: Rs.200
VNA Rating: 4/5
So is it for you?Lakme Absolute Color Illusion Nail Polish Fantasy is a cool toned pink which would flatter lighter Indian skin tones a lot. The formula is quite good and lasts for a good amount of time. It catches light and looks different indoors and outdoors and gives an illusion of slightly textured nails. Overall if metallics
are your thing then try this out before it runs out as its LE.
PS – Its been a month and my voter mark is still there. Now I hate it!
