ESTEE LAUDER Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in 2W2 Rattan Review

Kolkata has her very first Estee Lauder store! Eeeee..am so excciitteedd!! But on knowing my weaknesses so very well (eye roll) I knew I would be doing self-charity to stay away from the store and stay away I did..that is, till 2-3 weeks and then it got too difficult (oh dear) and I stepped inside and hauled biigg time! My favorite product from my haul up on the blog today for review and swatches- the very famous, double wear stay-in-place SPF 10! I was matched to the shade 2W2 Rattan (reward offered to the person who can tell me what the name means)
Estee Lauder Claims: A foundation with clinically proven staying power.
What it does: Look flawless all day and night. This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, and non-stop activity. Lightweight and comfortable, it is clinically proven to last up to 15 hours without smudging or coming off on clothes. Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day and well into the night.
What else you need to know: This product is fragrance- and oil-free, dermatologist-tested, and non-acnegenic.
My Review:
The packaging of this foundation is very classy and vintage like, with its royal blue glossy cover box and heavy glass bottle with a screw cap in golden..it is however, quite inconvenient to carry around and having no pump either, is a pain to pour out everytime to use especially for a klutzy like me.
The texture is liquidy, quite runny and has to be worked in the skin pretty quickly as it has a tendency to set quickly! And the SA advised me to hydrate skin before putting this on even though I have oily skin because that makes it go smoother and blend in perfectly and it does! I use a dab of the delicious estee lauder day wear cucumber-y cream to replenish my skin and apply this with my fingers, just a small section of my face at a time. I have used a brush as well and it works just the same.
The finish? The coverage? Dreamyyy. Now I know why its so hyped and so raved about!! I could not believe it was my own skin I was touching and looking at in the mirror. It was absolutely flawless, spotless, my dark circles almost unnoticeable and my acne scars vanished!! No concealer required. It does not go exactly matte but that might also be as I have pretty oily skin and its goddamn humid and blazing out here. However, its demi-matte and looks velvety and beautifully luminous.
The staying power? Probably 61 hours but they narrowed it down to 16! No that was a terrible pun but anyways I have had it on my face in this 41 degree weather from 10am till 11pm at night and aside from blotting once around the afternoon I haven’t had to worry about it and yes I blotted with a white tissue which came out clean. No transfer! Yoo hoo!
On my face- only foundation applied, no concealer, no powder nothing
The pros of Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup:
- The foundation looks vintage and classy!
- Shade range is huuggee!
- Texture is nice and liquidy and blends really well on hydrated skin
- Concealer can be avoided mostly if you haven’t got too much of a pigmentation issue.
- Absolutely stunning finish! Velvety, luminous..non oily and non heavy
- Stays on and on forever!!
- Non transferable.
- Has SPF. What more can a girl want!
The cons of Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation:
- Priceeyyyyy. I died of guilt after buying this! But oh! It was so worth it.
- Dry skinned ladies would probably not love it so much!

Do I recommend? Till date my most favorite, most expensive and probably one of those rare products which live up to their hype <3 it is bloody pricey but now that I have it I cannot imagine how I have lived without it :P and yes I have still not found any mac foundation I really lovvveee -_- I still love my healthymix and this one now :D highly recommended!
