Sonam Kapoor at Cannes Red Carpet 2014: Outfits and Makeup Breakdown
Alright girls let’s do it! Its been so long I did a celebrity post and before I lose my charm I want to start with the 5 stunning designer outfits Sonam Kapoor wore to 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival. Covering the Cannes has sort of been a tradition here on VNA from a few years now and I didn’t want to break it this year. I was waiting for Sonam to show us all she has got (pun intended) so I could write this looooong and picture heavy post on her appearances and makeup breakdowns instead of writing 5 different posts. You know what I mean?
Let’s start with the start! Going with her ritual of wearing atleast one black outfit to Cannes red carpet, this year she picked this black Elie Saab ball gown. This sort of reminds me of the Elie Saab gown Aishwarya Rai wore to Cannes last year. Yep quite similar. But not denying the fact that she carried it quite well. And that faux bob
and red pout just pulls the whole look together and give her a retro glam appearance. You know what I mean? This was at the screening of The Homesman on Day 5.
Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto posing with other L’Oreal Paris ambassadors (not liking Freida one bit, You know what I mean?)
L’Oreal revealed the makeup products used on her. L’Oreal Moist Matte lipstick in Strawberry Syrup, Gel Matic Liner Deep brown and Super Liner Gel Liner. I wish they revealed the blush too but it must be one of those L’Oreal True Match blushes.
On Day 6 Sonam Kapoor looked like..I dunno what to say honestly! I still don’t have the appropriate words to describe how stunning she looks. Probably the best appearance in an Indian saree on the Cannes red carpet after those miserable bhartiya naari acts by Aishwarya Rai and Vidya Balan in the past. Kudos to Sonam for choosing this stunning Anamika Khanna beige net saree. I totally love the mesh detailing on the top. And that chokar necklace is ethereal. Digging the Jimmy choo shoes and Ferragamo clutch. 10/10 top to bottom!
I like how her designer draped the saree and kept the accessories minimal to just her mom’s chokar which btw I’m not getting enough of. The sleek and simple hair do compliments the overall sophisticated look. You know what I mean?
This was for the Foxcatcher Premiere. Also likingEva Longoria and Cheryl Cole here. Infact just ordered online a black top similar to what Eva Longoria wore. The cut of mine is not that deep but pretty nonetheless.
Totally love the deep chocolate brown smokey eye with nude lips. The makeup breakdown for this look:
L’Oreal Moist Matte Maple Mocha lipstick, Gel Matic Liner Glamour Gold and Infallible eyeshadow Eternal Black. I doubt if its really the same eyeshadow Loreal claims it is. Firstly I’ve the same mono eyeshadow and its quite sheer and shimmery for a deep smokey look like this. Secondly her eye makeup looks more deep brown than jet black.
For her third appearance, she wore a raspberry red Elie Saab couture gown (yet again) with a lacey back. I’m myself hoarding up on lace tops and dresses so I share this love for mesh and lace with her. And those earrings..OMG! This was for the Google Plus Hangout.
Here is the MUA Namrata Soni who did the magic on her. This one is for those L’Oreal photo shoots. You know what I mean?
For the Chopard Dinner
, Sonam went powder blue in the off shoulder Elie Saab gown (yes again!). I love how each year at Chopard dinners she wears such beautiful necklaces. Like the dainty diamond necklace she wore last year. Like how the whole look is kept minimal and classy.
Saying Hi (left) and Bye (right) to Cannes 2014 in Elie Saab (why lord why!)
Sonam has learned from her past mistakes at Cannes and didn’t go over board this year so yeah quite impressed with all the appearances. VNA is going to recreate most of these makeup looks for you so don’t worry and sit back while we bring you some makeup lessons and tutorials along with a detailed post like this on Aishwarya Rai.
Btw by now You DO Know What I mean?!
