How about an industrial strength (quoting MAC) oil to remove your holi woes this year! MAC to remove gulaal and paint! Nahh am not crazy! Just a mentos idea! Even I thought it must be crazy to slather my already oil-slick skin with some more oil, that too rubbing across my whole face! But I had to try and buy the Cleanse Off Oil and guess what? It changed my entire opinion about oils. Let’s review and swatch one of the best oil based makeup removers ever.
MAC Claims: An industry-strength oil-based makeup remover that’s gentle on the skin. Botanically formulated with oils of olive fruit, evening primrose and jojoba seed and absolutely 100 percent mineral-oil free. Massages onto the skin to loosen all makeup, including waterproof mascara. Emulsifies into a lotion-type liquid with water: rinses off easily, no tissues required – and no residue! Protects with vitamin E. Skin softening and conditioning. Good for all skin types.
My Review:
The cleanse off oil comes in a huge transparent plastic bottle with a very sturdy convenient pump which works on their locking mechanism (thank god!) but still its really too big and clumsy to carry around.
The oil comes in spritzes and the texture is very thin, liquidy almost lotion like which was so different from what I had imagined it to be! I rubbed a couple of pumps worth oil in my palms and smoothed onto my face and it felt really silky smooth, soft and nice! I took a couple of drops of water and massaged it along on my face where it instantly changed into light fluffy lather which could be (surprise surprise) so very easily washed off or even rubbed off with a wet tissue. I prefer washing properly though.
And ta da! My face was oh so smooth, silky soft and no greasy slimy film or feel at all. It was a tad drying even (since it was winter and my face tends to behave a bit normally) Every speck of mascara, waterproof eyeshadow, my heavy duty base was gone (poof!) and my face looked soft, clean and fresh! Awsommeee! The smell is very mild, soothing and lovely- must be the blend of lovely oils doing their job and does persist for quite some time even after washing off.
It is awfully pricey (price escalated from 1100 to 1600 in a jump within 3 months) but I assure you it does its job perfectly, very easy to use and a teeny weeny amount is enough. So it will last me a minimum of 8-9 months atleast! I have used it 6-7 times already and 95% is left!

My demo on Cleanse Off Oil: Long staying kajal, eye pencils and lipsticks smeared on hand
2 drops taken and massaged
Ta-da! Clean after rubbing off!
The pros of MAC Cleanse Off Oil:
Sturdy plastic bottle with nice lock-pump packaging
Lovely, light and silky smooth texture of oil, spreads easily onto skin.
Do I recommend? MAC Cleanse Off Oil is a great makeup remover. I did love my TBS chamomile butter for its easy travelling with part but work wise I do love this more! And its gonna last me much much longer that’s for sure. They do make a chamomile silky oil too but I haven’t heard very good things about it. So no go for me! I will pick up the much raved Clarins one after and if I ever manage to get through this. Do pick this up before MAC decides to hike their prices further. It is of excellent texture, quality, mineral oil free and satisfies its claims. Totally recommended! That’s it today ladies. Till the next time stay happy and play holi!
