HOW TO DO A PERFECT CAT WINGED EYELINER – Step by Step Tutorial
By Contributor: Mahima
CAT WINGED EYELINER, isn’t it the most prettiest eyeliner shape ever? Oh yes it is, it can instantly make your eye look from bleh to GLAMOUROUS. A winged eyeliner elongates your eyes making it look bigger and bolder. Cat feline eyeliner could itself h ave different shapes like ‘how long the wing is gonna be
’ or ‘how thick or thin the liner at inner corner will be’ and well it all depends upon the eye shape. It can be made subtle for everyday or super dramatic for an event. We have so many celebrities wearing winged eyeliner, from Taylor swift and Adele’s not too long but dramatic winged liner to Amy Winehouse’s long and extremely dramatic liner. Again it all depends upon the eye shape, look and TASTE.
And you my ladies, yes YOU can master the perfect winged liner with a little practice, just follow the simple steps below and practice them to master the technique even if you mess up, don’t discourage yourself makeup is all about practicing keeping in mind your taste, face shape and occasion.
Step 1- start off with a clean eye, conceal the bad bad dark circles if you prefer to do it before the eye makeup (I do my base first then eye makeup).
Step 2- fill in your brows if you always do and apply a light shimmering eye shadow all over your lid and brow bone.
e/s used- Maybelline quad in copper brown (lightest shade).
Step 3- apply a light brown or taupe shade into your crease using a fluffy blending brush. Same quad (dark copper brown shade). Tighline your eyes with a kohl pencil. Tighlining is basically filling the gaps between your upper lashes, this makes you lashes look a lot more fuller and also pulls the whole look together.
Step 4- just make a straight line from the end of lower lash line towards your brow. (TIP: if you cannot do this then just stick a piece of tape from the corner of your lower lash line towards your brow and make the line, you can even use a white liner pencil to guide you
Step 5- connect the end of the line to the point where your iris ends, it will make an isosceles triangle ( I got little geometrical over here!)
Step 6- fill that bad boy in!
Step 7- now just make 2 or 3 small lines as close to your lash line as possible staring from your inner corner all the way till the triangle. (TIP: use white eyeliner for this step if you cannot do it this way)
Step 8- join these small lines up AND NOW you can actually adjust the liner according to your eye shape, you can extend the wing to make it long or thicken the whole line to make it more dramatic. (TIP: don’t worry if you mess up, use a little makeup remover on a q-tip and clean your mistake)
Step 9- this is totally an optional step, but yeah you can go on and apply some black, brown or white kohl pencil to your lower lash line and all my fun ladies you can also play this look up by adding a colored liner like blue or maybe purple ?
Kohl used- same as used for tighlining.
Step 10- okay so we’re almost done, just curl your lashes and apply a good coat of your favorite mascara
