MAC Expensive Pink Eye Shadow Review and its Inglot dupe
By Contributor: Mily
And you thought these celebrities have natural stunning eyes? NO! I am going to tell you a secret of these naturally pretty eyes and one more secret about the budget dupe! Today I am going to tell you about the lengths I went to for getting my hands on Expensive Pink eye shadow from MAC. You see, I am from a city which has no MAC. And a girl just needs wants something from MAC if she knows the ABC of makeup. It’s such a huge brand that you are not considered a makeup addict till you own a MAC lipstick. When I first saw this eye shadow on one of the beauty blogs, I searched high and low of google for the exact dupes of this rose gold shade and that’s the only time I felt that this web is not wide enough! More on my story below with the review and swatches.
MAC describes this shade as a pink gold duo chrome in veluxe pearl finish.
Expensive Pink is something which is a combination of salmon pink with gold flecks in it. It’s not really pink and not really gold. Not making sense? Since it’s a duo chrome. It sometimes looks like rose gold (which BTW is a colour I am obsessed with!), sometimes really sheer pink with a hint of gold and when you layer it heavily, it almost starts looking gold. The texture is really amazing like all eye shadows from MAC and it stays on for at least 7-8 hours with a primer and 4-5 hours without it. You can wear it with suits and sarees or combine it with a muted brown to create a soft neutral look.
So yes I found one dupe and ordered it. So that’s it? No! I then went and asked my boyfriend to enter a MAC store and get me the original one! Imagine my guts..after thousands of phone calls to convince him..he quietly went to the store and asked for it and bought it and came back and cursed me all month. Do I look like I will care? Ha-ha! I have in my hands the most versatile and raved about eye shadow and some curses which I can bear!
Swatches in natural light
So basically now I have the original and what most of the people think is its perfect dupe. MAC expensive pink is a pink gold duo chrome eye shadow which is one of the most famous neutral eye shadows and is loved by beauty bloggers all over the world. When you look at it, it looks really festive and all shimmery. Then why is it classified neutral?? I will tell you. It looks all shimmery in the pan but when swatched it transforms into a stunning almost n*de shade with just a little sheen. Have you heard of MLBB? My lips but better? This is the eye version of that. MEBB! It makes your eyes look almost ethereal with a pink-gold sheen. You can layer it up to make the look festive or tone it down for everyday work look.
Top: Inglot Pearl 407 , Bottom: Expensive Pink
Now the dupe: Inglot 407 pearl. Its more golden than expensive pink and less pinker. But they both look almost similar when applied on eyes and I once went to a party with Inglot applied on one eye and MAC on other..ha-ha..so much to test the dupes and some for fun..my boyfriend just said your eyes look pretty! I love both MAC and inglot because they are awesome in their own special ways.
