Top Hair Colours in India
By Contributor: Monica
When it comes to hair coloring, every girl has her own individual style and choice. A change of hair color if done properly can lift the entire personality. I personally prefer getting it d one at a salon but my mom, she has been coloring her hair at home since years now. As far as hair colors are concerned, there is a new confusion around, i.e. it should be with ammonia or without ammonia
. Every person has its own perception towards it which gives rise to more confusion. As far as I know, ammonia if used for long can damage the hair shaft and make
hair breakage pr one but the claims as to loss of memory etc. I’m not sure of. But as said every
person has own perception so in this post below I have included both ammonia free as well as ammonia hair color options. Read this list of the best hair colors available in India and decide for yourself which one you wanna try.
1. L’oreal casting crème gloss No Ammonia Hair Color
L’Oréal has created a new generation of no-ammonia colorants. Casting Crème Gloss: a no ammonia conditioning hair colorant that gives your hair visible shimmering tones, glossy shine and blends away grey. It is easy to apply, mess free, gives a glossy shine and makes hair soft and smooth. The delicate fragrance is also nice. Price: Rs.529.
2. L’oreal paris Excellence Crème Hair Colour
This one has Ceramide: a replica of hair’s natural cement, Pro Keratin: it revitalizes and strengthens the hair and Collagen: known for its densifying power. Both of these L’Oreal brands are good and give a nice colour pay off. Price: Rs.550.
3. Garnier Color Naturals Hair Color
This is one of the cheapest options available. It’s enriched with olive oil so gives smooth and shiny hair after coloring. Gives almost 100% grey coverage. One of the favourites of many henna users. Price: Rs.155.
4. L’oreal Professional Inoa Hair Colour
This hair color is available exclusively at L’oreal professional hair salons and is costly as compared to regular hair colors. It gives 100% grey coverage and awesome shine. Color also lasts longer than regular colors. PriceL depends on hair length- approx. Rs.2000-3000.
Go for it if you have lighter hair or want to cover the greys because it scores on that part. But it would not transform your hair color to the one mentioned on the pack if you have dark hair. Or if you have henna- treated hair, it might not work unless you stop using henna before using this. Price: Rs.489.
6. Revlon Colorsilk hair Color
It gives you natural-looking, even color from root to tip that stays beautiful between colorings. It is formulated to penetrate every strand with its gentle, ammonia-free formula and after-color conditioner with nourishing silk proteins. Hair looks silkier, shinier and healthier than before you colored. 100% gray coverage. Price: Rs.320.
Do you prefer no ammonia to ammonia options? And do you prefer going to salons to get your hair done or prefer the budget at home options available?

Great choices. I’ve used some with ammonia and without. I wont be dyeing it anytime soon but I have used Colorsilk before and it works great.
sir
which hair dye will suit for oily hair and iam a regular user of cocunut oil and hence any dye does stay on my hair. which is the hair dye that has no chemicals
Fish. I was blindly using Garnier Color Naturals from last 2 year and once in every 2 month.
Never went on checking if its ammonia free or not. I had in mind that Garnier is a big brand so its obv. ammonia free. :/
Just realized and its ingredients says “Ammonia” :(
And yes the amount of white hair increased in my hairs in last 2 years at this age of just 24 :(
I think I’ll switch to L’oreal Paris !
