While I was in school, the only lip balm I knew was Vaseline petroleum jelly. Then as I came in college, I had this sudden love for glosses and now I have 2 loves- lipsticks and lip balms (how easily I have divided my whole life in 3 phases na!). Anyways, coming to lip balms, there are 2 types of these available in market- tinted and not tinted. I fancy both. As I have quite dry and chapped lips, I use tinted ones during the day and non-tinted ones at night for lip repair.

This post compiles the best tinted lip balms available in India.

1. Maybelline Baby Lips

Maybelline Baby Lips are tinted lip balms with a light tint. The tint is not much but decent enough to give just a hint of colour. Girls who run away from lipsticks and deep lip colours are going to like this a lot. It keeps your lips moisturised for a good 3-4 hours after that you need to reapply. Price: Rs.150.

2. Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm

It has a lovely fruity smell which is what makes me apply it over and over. Though it isn’t that good on the moisturisation part. So, you have to re-apply it after every 2hrs or so. Available in 4 shades, my favourite is Pomegranate. Price: Rs.129.

3. Vaseline Lip Therapy – Rosy Lips

The Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips range gently tints lips with rose to enhance their natural glow while providing a surge of moisture and a touch of sweet almond and rose oils. Stick contains: Almond Oil – cares and protects dry lips and Pro-vitamin E. Price: Rs.109.

4. NYX Butter Lip Balms

Kiss dry lips goodbye with these rich buttery lip balm. It melts directly onto the lips leaving a shiny tinted finish behind making lips kissably soft. It come in a variety of 8 colors and flavors. Though not readily available here, but can be bought online easily. Price: $4.

5. The Body Shop Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm – Stawberry

A cult lip balm in a pot. Gives colour, flavour and moisture for more kissable lips. Moisturises and conditions lips. Red tint. Shine finish. Fruity strawberry flavor. Price: Rs.275.

6. Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm

For just a hint of color and a whole lot of conditioning. Burt’s Bees makes some of the world’s best waxy lip balms without any petroleum jelly and now they have got tinted ones too. Although these have a bit of shimmer. It comes in a range of 9 naturally flattering shades. Available at Sephora Delhi. Price: $7 (around Rs.500 at Sephora)

Berry Smoothie, Cherry Tart, Tutti Frutti, Peach Parfait, Candy Apple are just some of the shades that are coming to my mind from this super popular Revlon Lip Butters range. You have to check them out to know what I mean! Available in 15 shades. Price: Rs.600

8. Maybelline Lip Smooth Colour Bloom Lip Balm

Available in two shades- pink and peach, these are the best in terms of color. I have the pink blossom one and the tint that it gives is a very bright deep pink. Though on moisturization front, they don’t deliver well. Price: Rs.110.

9. Lip Ice Sheer Colour – Strawberry

You put it on and it goes on clear then changes colour within two minutes. This gives a subtle pink tint. You can deepen the colour by layering it. Like its a sheer pink in 2-3 swipes and turns into deep pink in 7-8 swipes. The best part is no matter how much you layer it, it never feels waxy. Price: Rs.190.

10. Avon Naturals Tinted Lip Balm – Stawberry and Cherry

Every girl grows up using Avon lip balms. The strawberry one gives such a deep red tint and makes you look like you have eaten half a dozen strawberries! But the new formula isn’t much tinted. Get the old ones from stores if you can. Price: Rs.100
