This is my very first post on Vanity No Apologies and I am very excited as well as slightly nervous, so please bear with me. Lakme recently launched these new eyeconic kajals in 5 different shades. I am sure we all loved the black one and I was super excited to try the new shades. I got the most hyped white one, which Kareena Kapoor has been sporting in the latest advertisements. So let’s start with my review and swatches of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal White.
Lakme Claims: 10 Hr, No smudging, Waterproof, Dermatologically tested. Read more here
Lakme Eyeconic kajal White is a creamy milky white kajal with fine silver shimmer. It comes in a slim white twist up tube so no worries of sharpening. The packaging is really good compared to the other shades, as it is of the same color as the kajal, with small blue band at base, where the shade name is mentioned. The color is pretty and can be worn in different ways, and looks really good on waterline to make my small eyes look bigger . It does look slightly stark on our Indian skin tones. But I do wish it was not shimmery and more of a matte white.
The texture of kajal is very smooth and creamy, to that extent that I once broke the tip; you have to be careful while application, if you apply slightly more pressure than the tip can break easily. It glides smoothly on eyes without any tugging on the delicate eye area. The color is very pigmented and when swiped on hands, it gives full coverage in just single swipe, but on waterline it sheers out bit and I need like 2-3 swipes to make it noticeable.
On my waterline it stays for 5 hours before it starts smudging from the corners. So the 10 hours claim is not true. I did try it once on upper lash line, and it stayed for a good 7 hours but still does not fulfill the 10 hours claim. It is indeed waterproof and does not come off with water, and can be removed with a good makeup remover.
But you can be very creative with this one, as after applying it is very creamy and can be smudged and sets within a minute, after that it becomes smudges proof and does not transfer at all. But I guess where the ingredients list is then. And if you wear contacts like me, then you do not need to worry at all , as it does not sting at all so thumbs up here, it is completely suitable for sensitive eyes, and is also dermatologist tested.
